Thirteen

He wanted to follow her. He wanted to know what was wrong. But the babies needed to be fed. As he readied the bottles be sent a text to Rhage and Mary to bring Zeus down for a three day check up in about an hour. He had so much to do and needed to plan for the other babies to be released. He wanted to feed Orion first just in case Hera needed more blood. He wanted to talk with Rhage and Mary about that. He fed both babies bottles and took their vitals. He left the babies a little worried about Hera. Her vitals were a little low and it was a sign that the blood was wearing off. He would need more options on how to get the blood into system and get it to stay there. He sat behind the nurses desk and went over her chart.
"Hunter?" He heard someone say.
He looked up and saw Jane, "Yeah?"
"Everything alright? You look stressed."
"I am. Hera's vitals a dropping slowly and its worrisome. The blood is wearing off fast. Faster than what I usually need."
"You gave her Mary's blood, correct?"
"Yes, why?"
"As vampires they need blood of a vampire of the opposite sex. Mary isn't a vampire or male."
"Would Rhages blood work?"
"I wouldn't see why not. When are they coming down?"
"Any time."
Just then alarms went off in the babies room. Both of them rushed inside and saw that Hera was barely breathing and her vitals had dropped dramatically.

Nalla sat on her bed breathing heavily. She had a near miss. Her needing was coming soon. She had felt it stirring inside her when she was holding Hera. She had left quickly to hopefully drive it off. She needed Jane and her Mother. She hadn't spent a lot of time with Hunter and knew he shouldn't see her through her needing. She felt the stirring again and it meant her needed was happening. She grabbed her phone.
"Nalla?" asked her mother.
"I..." She moaned, "I need... You."
The line disconnected and she dropped her phone and moaned out the pain. Her door opened as she was coming down from the pain and revealed her mother and Jane.
" Oh dear. Its happening. Do you want Hunter?" Asked her mother.
She shook her head and held her arm out to Jane. Jane walked to her with the medication and readied the needle.
" Are you positive?" Jane asked her.
"Please before it happens again."

He walked into the room where his patient and the parents sat. He opened the chart for Zeus and began his exam. The baby was healthy and gaining weight as he should. He looked healthy and needed his vaccines.
"First off, as an infant he needs his shots. I'll prepare them soon." Hunter said, " He is healthy and growing. He is right on track where he should be for being premature."
"That's great. What about his siblings?" Rhage asked him while taking the baby from Mary.
"Well, Orion may be ready to leave soon. Maybe another day or so. Hes healthy and gaining weight and he is stable." He sighed. "Hera is more worrisome. Her vitals dropped and that means the blood wore off very fast. We have her on an iv for blood right now. But from what Jane told me she will need a male vampires blood. We wanted to try yours, Rhage. If your willing."
"Anything. Anytime." He replied. "Now if you want."
"Alright. I'll have you go scrub your arms to make sure they are clean. I'll need to prepare her. And remove the IV. I need a second pair of hands. I can't get a hold of Jane."
"I'll call V." Mary said as both men got up and got busy. " He will help and help with getting Zeus his shots. Considering Jane is busy with Nalla."
That stopped him in his tracks. "Nalla?"
"Her needing."
