Nineteen

Nalla felt dizzy as she walked down the stairs to the medical unit. She had an appointment with Jane and she was a little worried. She wasn't hungry, she had fed recently. She hadn't started bleeding yet either. That was worrisome to her. What is she screwed their chances at a baby? When she reached the desk Jane led her down the hall to an exam room. She took her height and weight. Then checked her vitals.
" Your blood pressure is running a little on the high side. You've gained a little weight." Jane said as she jotted on her notes.
" What does that mean?" She asked jane.
"I am not sure yet. Could be anything. For now I want to run blood work and what's there. Are you feeling any symptoms?"
"Im dizzy, and still haven't started bleeding."
"I see. That is cause for concern. I'll draw some blood and we will go from there. Have you fed?" She nodded, "How recently?"
"A week or so ago."
"Alright. Let's get the blood and I'll decide what to do next."
"Have I ruined my chances of pregnancy?"
"Let's not jump to conclusions just yet. Let me do my job and I promise I'll figure this out."
Jane stuck the needle in her arm and drew a few vials of blood. Nalla had a sudden wave of dizziness and laid back. Jane got her a glass of water and left the room.

"Both babies are doing well. I see no reason to keep them. But I suggest you have help for the first week or so. If they show any signs of distress or you become worried about anything let me know. I'm always here." Hunter told them, "Any questions?"
"How often does Hera need blood?" Rhage asked him.
"Twice or three times a week. You will notice her slight weight loss and maybe a bit more fussiness. I have some blood store for her to put in a bottle as she doesn't have fangs yet. It will be the easiest way outside of an IV that should work. If it doesn't I can set up times to feed her through an IV." He explained to them.
They nodded and picked up the carseats and left the room. Hunter began cleaning the room up. He threw out the IVs, wiped down the counter area, sterilized the beds, and then sterilized the room. He took the beds back to storage room and put he operating room back together. When he was down he went to file the charts and saw that some paperwork was on the printer. It didn't have a name but it was blood tests. It showed a heightened blood cell count. As well as a heightened blood volume. He didn't know the standards for vampires as well as he did humans. Jane came up beside him.
"In assuming this is vampire blood?" He asked her.
"Yes, she was being considered for Safe Place but their in house lab was destroyed. So it got sent to me." Jane responded, "They look slightly hightened. It's a cause for concern with her. I'll set up an appointment to consult with her about testing."
"If shes considering Safe Place, check for internal bleeding. I used to see it in abused children." He told her as she took the paperwork from him. He smiled and finished his task at hand. He logged the babies appointments they needed and headed to his room for a shower and change.

K walked into their hidden compound with the loot from Safe Place. He walked up to P and handed it over.
" How much did you get?" P demanded as he set the bag on the counter.
"Every bit they had. There wasn't much there but it was all I got. F got sacked and absorbed. I remained hidden until they left the place empty." He told his commander.
P nodded, "Ready Test subjects one and two. We need to get this underway."
