For The Road

Chapter 32

I woke up and Tyler everybody was sitting there looking at me.

"Rosalyn," Tyler said grabbing my hand.

"Whats wrong?," I say sitting up.

"No baby you have to lay down," My mother says.

"Uh Ms.James your awake splendid," the doctor said.

"Why am I here?," I ask. " Did I hurt the baby?," I look scared.

"Ms. James you fainted due to pain, do you remember that?,"

"Yeah the baby was kicking,"

"And," the doctor says.

"And what?,"

"You were having contractions," he said. "You were in so much pain that you fainted,"

"So Im good I can go home?," I ask.

"Not technically you have 2 more days, just to check on you and the baby," 

"Okay,"

"Alright, but you do have to eat something,"  the doctor says. I nod and stretch. Tyler sat next to me, and our parents gave us some alone time.

"Im stuck here for two days," I said to him. 

"Do you want me to be here with you?," he asks me.

"No you have to go home," I told him.

"I'll stay with you," he says.

"Babe," 

"Anyways I found out the gender," I slap his arm.

"Why?,"

"Why what?,"

"Why did you find out the gender!," I slap his arm again.

"He gave it to me on your papers,"

"And you read that section, okay just tell me,"

"Its a girl," he said. "Layah it is," I rolled my eyes.  

"I really wanted a boy,"

"We can after Layah comes," he says grinning.

"What about the middle name?," I ask him smiling. "That was your job to do all of that," I smiled and knew he didn't think of one.

"How about Hanna,"

"No,"

"Paige, "

"No,"

"Emily,"

"Okay Layah Emily Morris,"

"Yep soon to be Mrs. Morris," he says grabbing my hand. I smiled and admired him.

2 and half months later

"Im so ready to have this baby!," I say at my baby shower.

"Who isn't," April says. I hold onto her baby and rock him back and forth. He is so cute, he already has a lot of hair like his mama. 

"Alright lets open gifts," Lauryn said. I handed April back her son and Tyler was talking to his cousins looking at me. I smile at him and grab the first gift.

"Its from Andre ooh!," I say opening the box. It was a cute pink polka dotted dress with a headband to match. "Thanks hun," I say he smiles and sips on his champagne. I opened the rest of  my gifts and they were all so lovely. "I just wanted to say thank you to everybody that came out here," I said standing next to Tyler.

"Thank you for all the gifts and love," Tyler says. "But if you see Layah acting up, you can snatch her up," I smiled and we did a cheers. I grabbed half of my gifts and started walking them to the car. "Let me help you," he says.

"Babe I got it," I say wobbling to the car. I placed the bags in the trunk and the boys carried the crib. I got tired and sat down, April walked over and sat next to me.

"Back hurts huh?,"

"Like a bitch,"

"Just wait until birth," she says.

"Jesus,"

"Tyler part A connects to Part B!," I say helping him with the crib.

"No Part A connects here," he says. I laugh at him and read him the instructions. After 3 hours we finish the crib. I sit down and take a break, I am so tired and exhausted. I walk into the kitchen and grab the peanut butter and SPLASH!

"Babe," I do my breathing exercises.

"Yeah,"

"Water," I take a breath. "Broke!," I take a huff of air and he rushes to my aid.

"Mom her water broke we are on our way to the hospital," he calls his mother.

"Babe!," I say. He hangs up and packs clothes and clothes for the baby. "Hurry," I say he grabs my clothes and puts them into the suitcase. "Wait wait that doesn't match," He stops and looks at me and grabs and matching outfit. "Yeah that works," I said. "OW!," I yell as I get downstairs. "Get the car," I said closing the door.
