RIINNNGG!! My alarm clock went off at 10 am. It's Saturday and it's been almost a week since the party and I had to get back to my normal routine again, unfortunately. Luckily, I didn't have work until Monday.
I hopped out of bed and headed into my bathroom. I took a quick 5-minute shower and put on sweats on top of my shorts with a hoodie.
Once I'm all freshened up, I decide that it's probably smart to have breakfast. I put some toast in the toaster and grab the peanut butter and bananas from the fridge. As I'm doing so, I hear my cell phone ringing on the counter. I grab my phone and see that it's Ari so I answer it.
"Hey Ari what's up?"
"Oh nothing, I'm just super bored. Do you want to go somewhere?"
"I can't right now because I have boxing, but I can come after."
"Sure, how about I pick you up around 2?"
"Sounds good to me."
"So, is there anything you want to tell me?" I wasn't aware of what she was talking about but then it dawns on me. The kiss. How did she know about that?
"Wait you know?"
"Yeah I heard your little conversation with Carter in the car after the party. You can fool him, but not me."
"Fine something did happen. I'm only telling you because I know you and Carter are going to keep bugging me about it."
"Right you are, so start talking."
"Ok so last night there was a guy with his friends who kept staring at me. I ignored them, but then when I was sitting at the bar, he came up to me and started hitting on me. He said something about a bet with his friends. When I got up to leave, the countdown started and the next thing I know, my lips are smashed against the guy."
"Oh my gosh Nikki! Was he hot? I bet he was." I could basically hear the smirk in her voice.
"Really Ari?"
"Sorry." She said in a perky tone. After a second of silence she spoke again,"So was it like a heated kiss or like was it one of those shitty kisses?" I roll my eyes dramatically. I wasn't going to get out if this.
"Ok fine. Oddly enough it was a pretty electrifying kiss. I kissed him back for second then stopped because honeslty I don't want to get involved with any more guys."
"But Nikki," she whined "Then how are you gonna find your fairy tale soul mate?" I chuckle at her remark. Every since I was little I always had the thought that someday I would find my prince and he would be the most perfect human being. Now I'm not so sure.
"I don't know if I really believe in that anymore."
"What? That's ridiculous! Of course you do! And I'll make sure you get it if it's the last thing I do!"
"Ok we'll see how that works out." I reply. "Anyway I go to go. I'll see you later."
"Ok bye."
"Bye." I glance at the time and notice that I have only 15 minutes until I have to be there. I quickly make the rest of my sandwhich, grab my bag and head out the door. I find my black Lexus parked at the end of the parking lane and drive off to the studio.
LA isn't usually very peaceful, but I assume everyone still isn't even awake this early on a Saturday. So, I revert my eyes a few times, not paying much attention to the road ahead of me. A big mistake on my part because as soon as I'm about to turn the corner, a guy appears out of nowhere right in front of my car.
"Oh shit!" I slam on the breaks and hope for the best. Fortunately, I don't hit him, but I was so close. I quickly get out of the car and rush to him.
