*2 Weeks Later*
"Aww. Look how cute we look," I gushed as Zayn and I stood in front of the mirror side by side. I was wearing a teal floor-length brides maid dress, while Zayn was wearing a tux with a matching bowtie. Today was finally Alex's wedding day, meaning we all only had a few more days until we left Italy. Well, everyone except Alex and Luke, who would be going on their honeymoon.
"Yeah yeah, let's get this over with," Zayn took my arm, pulled me out of the bathroom and out the hotel room foor, after I grabbed our stuff.
"Don't be rude. It's a wedding and they're practically your friends too."
"Sorry I just don't like these types of things." We walked through the lobby and then to the car, where I struggled to get into the car without messing up my dress or my hair.
"But you've been through a wedding."
"I like it if it's my own."
"Oh I guess that makes sense," I agreed, then reached for his hand. "I don't mean to pry, but what were your and Ellie's wishes for your future? Like, did family ever come up?"
"Yes and no," he began. "We talked about it for the future but at that time, we were so young and only in college so we didn't spend too much time on it."
"What about now?" I asked, knowing that this was a soft topic.
"I don't know. Haven't had a serious relationship after Ellie, besides you."
"Ooh I'm considered a serious relationship?" I teased.
"If you made it past the one night stand, then it's serious."
"But, we never even had sex until a couple days ago."
"Then consider our relationship extra serious," he answered smiling, ending our conversation.
I looked out the window as Zayn drove the rest of the half hour to the cathedral where the wedding was.
When we finally got there, we got out of the car and walked into the building hand-in-hand.
"Wow this is beautiful," I breathed. They had managed to decorate the inside of the cathedral to match the teal and silver theme, without making it seem too unorganized. There were a few people scattered around, talking amongst themselves, while other rushed back and forth between places to get things done.
I was shaken out of my trance as Ivy tugged on my arm. "Thank goodness you're here. Alex won't get ready until you're there to help her with the dress." I glanced at Zayn and smiled innocently.
"Do you mind if I go?" He let go of my hand and shrugged.
"Nah. I'll go find the other groomsmen."
"Ok." I quickly kissed him. "Sorry I always leave you."
"It's fine. Now go, the bride needs you." Ivy pulled me along to the very back and into a room at the end of the hallway. Inside was a complete mess. People were fumbling around with the dress and there were little pins and other tiny things scarttered around the dresser and the floor.
Alex and I made eye contact through the mirror and I could practically see her face light up with joy. She immediately forgot about everything and came and hugged me.
"The dress is gorgeous! Thank you so much."
"It's the least I could do for a friend."
