On Saturday, the girls and I decided to plan out my party since it was only a week away . We all went out for coffee and sat and planned on the cushioned benches of the cofee shop. It was a nice place to just hang out.
"Your birthday is exactly one week away so the party will be next Saturday, the 27th," Scarlet stated. "Now we just need ideas on what type of party to hold." We all took turns giving ideas of party themes.
"Maybe a masquerade ball," Ivy suggested. "But, that will definetly be a bit more expensive."
"Or maybe we could throw a cocktail party," Aria added.
"I was thinking something more energetic so the guys could enjoy it too," Alex thought. "Like a paintball fight."
"Wait that's perfect!" I exclaimed. "It sounds so much fun!"
"Thats's a great idea actually," Scarlet stated. "And it won't even cost all that much."
"Thanks. I try," Alex said, taking a fake bow, as we all cracked up.
"So Saturday, we can reserve the paintballing grounds and we'll have a four hour long reservation period." I said. "From 6-10."
"Yeah so it'll be fun to play in the dark and we can order dinner there," Ivy added.
"Oh this sounds perfect," Aria said. "I can't wait."
"We can just send out text invitations," Alex suggest. "I can do that."
"And I'll reserve the paintballing grounds for that time on Saturday," Scarlet says.
"I can order the food," I say.
"And I'll bake the cake." Aria says.
"Maybe we should add a clothing theme. Like masks or something," Ivy suggested. "I can do that."
"Ok so it's set," I say, finalizing the details. "Now we just have to send out the texts." As if on cue, our phone go off with a text.
We open the text to see that Alex had already finished her part of the work. The text read:
Join us in celebrating Nikki's 23rd birthday!
It'll take place on Saturday, January 27 from 6-10 PM.
Dinner will be seved.
You may invite your own friends."I sent it to all of our close friends and a couple friends we had from college," Alex adds.
"Ok. That works!" I exclaim. "Well, we'll all see eachother Saturday then."
"Ok bye!" We all says to eachother as we exit the coffee shop and start heading home. It's already starting to get dark even though it's only 6:30. I get in my car and drive home making sure to pay attention to the roads despite the emptiness. I don't want to run into another Zayn-like person who doesn't know how to cross the street.

The next week goes by considerably quick. Work was the same. The only exception was my daily morning workouts with Jake at boxing. Everyday this week, we had been a bit friendlier towards eachother. We laughed uncontrollably and had been having so much more fun. Unsure of our realtionship with eachother, I finally worked up the courage to ask him Friday morning.
"So Jake, I'm having a paintball party tommorow for my birthday and I was just wondering if you wanted to come."
"Yeah sure that sounds like fun. What time?"
"It's from six to ten."
"Then I'm free."
"You were free anyway weren't you?"
