“Can a wolf have a human mate?” Elaine whispered.
Neill nodded, anticipating her reaction.
“Well then why the fuck didn’t you tell me?” Elaine yelled standing up.
“Because you weren’t prepared Elaine,” Neill said standing up too.
Ignoring how good her name felt on her lips, Elaine continued yelling at him. He was looking so lost and confused that she couldn’t stare at him. Turning around, Elaine spoke, “You know what the fuck this did to me? I am in love with this guy whose memories consume me and then you come along and I find you hot and then I feel like a slut because all it takes for me to get over Ian is a hot guy and this fucking stupid supernatural attraction to you makes me feel that what I felt for Ian wasn’t true and that I am not capable for loving anyone and it was all really fucked up Neill and it wouldn’t have been so bad if you told me what you were maybe I wouldn’t have killed myself over liking you.”
“Elaine, relax, it was,” Neill started, moving towards
Elaine laughed humorlessly, moving away.
“Oh don’t relax me, Neil. Do you think you have some monopoly over what and when to reveal. You should have told me the exact moment you dragged me into this mess. I almost died because your wolf friends visited here while you were out fucking some Blonde. You are an utter asshole. A shit bag who is to coward who couldn’t tell the…”
Before Elaine knew what was happening, she was pushed against the wall, with a mild force her back came in contact with the cold tiles. Neill banged the fist of his right hand on the tiled wall beside her head, the impact making her cringe. His left hand was wrapped around her waist tightly and he was crushing her body into his. He stared at her with angry eyes.
Elaine’s eyes widened before she pulled her head back and tightly shut them.
Her lip trembled. Neill was going to hurt her like those men yesterday.
She wanted to beg him to let her and say that she was sorry for whatever angered him so much, but she didn’t. There was something inside her telling her that Neill couldn’t hurt him. Some where she felt safe in his arms. Besides, her ego was too inflated. And his eyes were dark, his hair falling over his long eye lashes. Elaine wanted to brush them away from his eyes and was considerably turned on.
“Open your eyes!” he growled.
She whimpered but kept them tightly shut.
“NOW!” he yelled.
Her eyes snapped open. The tears were falling now.
“You will listen to every word I say now, and learn it. Okay?” Neill said bitterly.
She just stared back.
“I am your alpha, you are mine. You will make sure you keep me happy. You will not piss me off. Okay? I have an entire fucking pack to regulate. I attend a stupid school. My parents have conveniently shed all burdens on me. You are my mate. It is your duty to make sure I don’t die of all the pressure on me. I can’t deal with a bipolar mate right now. I just need some support. So stop yelling at me and stop PMSing!”
A sob escaped Elaine.
Neill lifted his weight off her and walked away.
“Come out when you’re done feeling sorry for yourself,” he called after himself.
Elaine fell to the ground. The sobs kept shaking her.
Neill rushed to his garage. He grabbed the keys to his bike and started it. He drove the bike out of the garage and down the road. Slowly, he increased the speed till it was almost flying. He kept driving at a breakneck speed making swift turn and swerving away from other vehicles. He was making a lot of close calls.
