Jake : Chapter Twenty-One

Beth's POV

A man walked in the room.

"Hey, Beth." He said.

"Hey, Jake. What are you doing here?" I said confused that a guy from my school is here.

"I know it isn't the best time but I realized how much I missed seeing you and your smile at school. I just had to come see you when I learned you got back." Jake said.

"Thanks." I said shyly to the hot guy... dang.

"So how's your mom doing?" He asked.

"Um I don't know... the TV says she will wake up tomorrow or at least should." I said.

"Oh that's good." He said.

"Yeah." I said.

He smiled at me with his pearly whites... Woah, amazing smile too?

"So what have I missed?" I asked him.

"Um not much except Michael's funeral and the safety program. They had someone talk about safety just because your kidnapping." He said quietly.

"Oh." I said as I remembered Michael.

"Um... can I ask you a question?" I said.

"Yeah, sure anything." He said concerned.

"Was Michael wanting to kill me?" I asked.

"No. He always was talking about you but in a good way." He said as I could tell he didn't want to bring up that he told Jake that Michael loved me.

"Okay. Thanks." I said as I teared up a bit.

Jane came running over and whispered in Jake's ear.

All of a sudden I had Jane and Jake squeezing me tight on my sides.

I started laughing but still had some tears. Jane let go and Jake was still hugging but more gentlemanly like. I hugged him back crying on his shoulder.

"Sorry." I said embarrassed that I did all this.

"It's fine." He said comfortingly.

"Okay." I said starting to smile but still had my eyes glimmering from the tears.

"So when is Matt's court date?" He asked.

"I don't know." I said remembering the dream of him stabbing Jane.

I shook my head and held it in my hands until my head was brought up by gentle hands under my chin.

Jake was holding my chin and caressed my jawline. I smiled at him realizing he probably was going to kiss me until he realized Jane was still in the room.

"Beth!" Jane yelled as I ran to her side of the room panicing.

"What?" I asked scared.

"Look." She said as she pointed at our mother.

She was starting to open her eyes and I smiled at her.

"Beth, Jane?" She said confused.

"Yeah, mom. I got away with Jane." I said as she smiled.

"I love you, mommy." Jane said which made me smile even more.

"I love you too." I said as she closed her eyes again.

"NURSE???" I yelled.

"Yes?" She asked.

"She woke up then close her eyes again." I said.
