The Cell : Chapter Thirty-One

Beth's POV

I walked past a couple cells until I saw...

"W-what is t-that?" I asked as I pointed to a cell.

The wall was wrote on with blood:
Beth, I love you.

"Oh, um. That wasn't there before." The officer said.

"So you're telling me that Matt snuck in a cell and wrote THAT?" I said.

"Um... I guess." The officer said.

"That makes me feel SO much better." I said sarcastically.

He led us to a cell and opened the door letting us in.

"Call if you need anything. The names Mike." The officer said.

"Okay, thanks, Mike." I said trying out his name.

"Have a good night." The officer said.

"You too." I said as Mike left.

I looked at the cell and found two small beds. Jake saw me looking at the beds.

"I'll sleep on the floor." Jake said.

"Sorry." I said giving him a frown.

"You're fine" He said.

I shut the door to the cell wanting the keys to never open it until Matt and my father were dead.

"Are you okay?" Jake asked.

"Nope." I said so casually.

I sat on one of the beds holding my head. Jake walked over to my side of the cell and sat beside me.

"I know it's hard now but trust me it will all work out." Jake said to me.

I smiled at him and grabbed his hand.

"Night, Beth. Love you." Jane said.

"Night, Jane. Love you too." I said to her as I went over and tucked her in.

After I tucked her in, I gave her a slight peck on the forehead and went back over to my bed.

*Ring Ring*

I heard the police station's phone ring. I was hoping everything was okay. I heard an officer speaking although I wasn't able to hear the conversation.

"Beth?" An officer said as he walked over to my cell.

"Yeah?" I said bracing myself for the bad news about to come.

"A body was found in a pile of ashes. We have identified the body and it is Andrew Brown." The officer said.

I sat there in shock.

"Andrew Brown was identified as Matthew's brother. He also has a sister, May. Next to the burnt out firepit was words spelled in wood." The officer said.

I had an idea of what it would spell but I was hoping it would say something else.

"The wood spelled out For Beth." The officer said.

"So, is May safe?" I asked the officer hoping she was fine because she was perfectly innocent.

"So far, yes." The officer said.

"Okay, thank you." I told the officer.

"Try to get some sleep." The officer said.

"I'll try." I said knowing I wouldn't get any sleep.

The officer left and I laid down on the bed. Jake was sitting on the floor against the wall.

"Are you going to sleep?'" I asked Jake.

"No, I am keeping watch. I will sleep in the morning when you are both up." Jake said.

I smiled at him and tried to get comfortable. Keyword: Tried. I closed my eyes and let the darkness take me.

Jake's POV

I was awake keeping watch of Beth and Jane. Slowly though I was feeling sleepy. I forced myself to stay awake the whole night. Even if I slept a blink, Beth could be gone.

Matt's POV

I was watching my Beth being guarded by Jake. I hate Jake. He is kissing and holding my soulmate. I have to stop this soon.

Beth's POV

I awoke next to a sleepy but awake Jake beside my bed.

"Morning, Jake." I said as I looked at his sleepy face.

"Morning baby, I'm going to sleep." He said as he climbed on my bed.

"Sweet dreams!" I said as he was already in a deep sleep.

"Morning, Jane." I said as she was just stretching her arms on her bed.

"Morning, Beth." Jane said as she stopped stretching.

I laid down almost falling off the bed but caught myself. I grabbed Jake's phone. I didn't want to wake him so I grabbed it myself.

"What are you doing?" Jane asked confused.

"Getting his phone." I said as I grabbed the phone and looked at any notifications.

"Oh." Jane said.

I smiled at the phone because nothing from Matt or my father came. But then right as I smiled I knew what would happen next.

*Ring Ring*

I knew it would ring.

Hello?
Hi, baby.
Shut up.
I will see you today.
No you won't.
Oh, but I see you now.
What the hell? Where are you?
Tsk tsk. I can't tell you.
Well don't call me then!

I hung up on him and sat on the bed Jake was sleeping on.

"I love you." I said.

I then went down and kissed his cheek because if Matt is watching, then he will see me kissing Jake and not him.

*Ring Ring*

I answered the phone.

Hello?
Don't do that.
What do you mean?
You know what I mean. I bet you where pretending that was me.
You have a sick mind!
As long as your with me my mind can be as sick as it wants.
Ha, no.
Hey, I made you laugh, that's a sign of true love.
Not unless it is because you're being a dumbass.
Well, someone is gonna be punished.
Yeah, you.
Well, I'll see you soon. Love you babe.
No, you won't. Hate you, criminal.

I didn't hear a response so I figured he hung up. I looked at my peaceful looking Jake and smiled.

"Ma'am, the hospital says you need to get Raven out of the hospital sometime today. They need the beds." The officer said.

"Okay." I said.

I decided to wait until Jake wakes up. He looks too peaceful and happy to wake up.

"Are we going to go?" Jane asked.

"No, not yet. We will go when Jake wakes up.

I waited a while for Jake to wake up.
