Cancelled Plans: Chapter Twenty-Nine

Beth's POV

I woke up next to Jane and Jake on the other side. I oddly felt safe right now which I haven't felt in a long time.

"Morning, Beth!" Jane said as she jumped up.

"Morning, Jane." I said back to her.

I got up off the bed and went to the bathroom. After using the bathroom, I went back out to the bedroom.

"Morning, Baby." Jake said as he patted the bed to signal me to sit beside him.

I sat beside him and turned on the TV.

Information on Beth Jones has come from the hospital and jail. Raven Jones, or Beth's mother, should be getting out of the hospital tomorrow. While being transported, Matthew Brown had escaped. Matthew was last seen at the Davenport Jail as he ran off when exiting the vehicle. If you have seen Matthew Brown or David Jones, please call this number.

I looked at Jake who seemed to be scared.

"Jake?" I said.

"Yeah?" Jake said.

"What are we going to do?" I asked him scared.

"Why don't we go to the jail and stay there? What escapee would go back to the jail?" Jake said.

"Okay, let's do it." I said.

I went to get up right when I heard the phone ring. I was hoping it would be the police.

*Ring Ring*

I answered the phone.

Hello?
I see you have heard I escaped.
How would you know?
Baby, I have to keep an eye on you.
I am not your baby.
Well who's babe are you?
Okay, 1 none of your business and 2 not you.
Well you will change your mind when you see me. I have been missing you.
Go screw yourself.
Well, I guess someone might need some disiplining from their daddy.
Shut up or I will hunt YOU down and kill you myself.
Oh sweetie, go ahead, I would love to see you again.
Maybe I will send an assassin instead.
Okay, well I just want to let you know you should leave this guy you have been with or I will make you leave him.
How about you leave me alone along with Jane and him?
As long as I have you, I don't need either of them.
You will have none of us.

Yeah, it is what I think and what I know will happen.

I hung up on him and ran over to Jake hugging him.

"Who was that?" Jake asked.

"Matt." I told him and he hugged me tighter.

"We need to leave, NOW." Jake said.

"Jane, we need to leave let's go." I said to her as I saw her grab her stuffed animal and walk towards us.

I grabbed her hand and felt Jake wrap his arms around my waist tight. Jake opened the door and looked out to make sure it is safe. He walked down the hall and to the elevator.

"Here." Jake said as he handed his keys to me.

"What's this for?" I asked.

"Hold them like this." He said as he put three keys between each of my fingers. He put my hand in a fist and I saw keys sticking out of my hand now.

The elevator came and Jake looked in and stepped inside. When we got in, Jake didn't loosen his grip on my waist even a bit.

"I love you." I told Jake.

"I love you too." Jake said as the elevator opened.

We looked out and saw the lady giving us the weirdest look.

"Morning, Ma'am." I said to the lady to break the silence.

"Good morning." The lady said still confused at us.

We walked out of the hotel and I was led to the truck.

"Get in." Jake said as he opened the door.

I put Jane in and saw Jake guarding us like I was a huge diamond. I looked back in the truck and got in. Jake closed the door and he ran to the other side of the truck.

"Okay, to the police station." Jake said as he closed his door after getting in the truck.

I looked at him and smiled as I gave him back his keys.

"Give me your phone." I said to him as I looked around the parking lot.

Jake handed me his phone and I called the Davenport Police.

Hello?
Hi, Davenport Police Station.
It's Beth Jones, I got a call from Matthew and I got Jane and Jake and we are heading to the police station.
Okay, we will be here. Stay safe.
I'll try, thank you.
Bye.

I hung up the phone and called the martial arts place.

Hello, Martial Arts Academy.
Hi, sadly I have to cancel my appointment for a session today.
Oh, okay. Why's that?
Well my kidnapper and abusive father have teamed up and are trying to kidnap me again.
Oh, um okay. I have cancelled your appointment.
Okay, thank you.
Bye.

I hung up the phone and handed it back to Jake.

"No, keep it for now." Jake said.

"Okay." I said as I put it in my bra.

"Um, why did you put it there?" Jake asked.

"Well they would look for a phone in my pockets. Do you think they would look in my bra?" I asked him.

"Okay, I get it." Jake said as he pulled into the police station's parking lot.

Jake parked near the entrance and helped Jane and I out. He wrapped his arms around my waist tightly again and I grabbed Jane's hand. We walked into the door and we're greeted by an officer.

"Hey, did you guys want to stay here because of Matt's escape?" The officer asked me.

"Yeah, if that's okay." I said.

"Yeah, it's fine. I get it."The officer said as he walked away.

I walked over to a chair and sat down. Jake sat on one side of me and Jane on the other. I grabbed Jake hand and Jane's in my other hand.

"I love you both." I told Jane and Jake.

"I love you too."Jake said.

"Me too." Jane said as she laid her head against my arm.
