Beth's POVI woke up beside Jake. He was already awake and staring into my eyes.
"Morning, Beth." Jake said.
"Morning, Jake." I said sweetly.
I looked over to see an empty couch with no Jane on it.
"JANE?!?!?!?!" I yelled for her.
I felt Jake pet my hair a bit to soothe me which was working.
"She just went to the bathroom." He said.
"Okay. I have to go too." I said.
"Okay. I will walk you there. I don't want to let you out of my sight for too long." He said smiling.
I smiled back and rolled my eyes jokingly.
"Morning, Beth." Jane said as she walked out of the hallway.
"Morning, Jane." I said.
"You two want breakfast?" Jake asked.
"Yeah. What are you making?" I asked hoping it wouldn't be meat.
"Waffles." He said as I was relieved because I kind of wanted some waffles.
"Yum." I said.
"Okay, then waffles it is." Jake says.
"So, where are you parents?" I asked.
"I'm 18, I moved out." He said.
"Oh, yeah. I forgot." I said realizing the mistake.
"Yeah, I moved out and got this beautiful place close by my college." Jake said.
"What college?" I asked.
"The Davenport Community College." He said.
"Cool." I said not knowing how to continue the conversation.
"Yep." He said
We kind of sat in silence not knowing what to say.
"Here you are." Jake said as he handed my plate to me.
"Thank you." I said as I cut it in half for Jane.
I gave Jane the plate.
"I'm going to make Jane some too." He said confused.
"Oh yeah, sorry. He never gave Jane food so I had to split it with her." I said remembering that horrific house.
"Oh, well you don't have to worry about that here." Jake said as he turned the waffle maker.
I smiled at his answer and just gave Jane my plate.
"Here, sugar." Jake said as he handed my plate to me.
"Thanks, sweetie." I said as I grabbed the plate and flashed a smile.
Jake smiled back at me and went to make himself a waffle. After we finished our waffles we sat and talked... something I missed doing with other people when I was in that house.
"Those were really good." I said to Jake.
"Thank you." He said.
"Yeah, they were yummy." Jane said.
Jake smiled at her.
"Do you wanna watch some TV?" Jake asked Jane.
"Yes!" She said quickly.
Jake went over and turned the channels until she found one she liked. He came back over to the table and sat right beside me.
"So, how's the anxiety going with this situation?" Jake asked concerned.
"It was horrible at first but now it is getting better." I said.
"Oh. Well that's good!" He said in a happy tone.
"Yeah, it is." I said.
"How about we go somewhere to get your head off of all of this?" He asked.
"Sure. What do you wanna do?" I asked confused.
"We could go bowling, to dinner, or we could even just take a trip to Walmart." He said chuckling a bit about the last part
When he said bowling or dinner, I realized he was trying to ask me out.
"Okay. Let's go to dinner." I said happy about the date.
"Great." He said.
I smiled at him and got up to use the bathroom. I walked down the hallway, walked in the bathroom, and closed the door. Once it was closed, I freaked out a little, surprised he asked me out. I then went the bathroom, washed my hands, and left the bathroom.
"Hey Beth, come watch TV with me." Jane said.
I smiled and walked over to watch with her and Jake, who was sitting on the other side of the couch.
Jake patted the seat in the middle for me to sit between the two of them. I rolled my eyes and sat in the middle seat.
Where is the spiky mountains?
Silence.
Yeah, they are right there.I can't stress how creepy it is to watch Dora. All she does is ask an obvious question then stares at you in silence. CREEPY, if you ask me.
As if Jake read my mind he said "Dora is really creepy the way she stares into your soul. Huh?"
"Um, yeah. Really creepy." I said.
He laughed a little when she would pause waiting for your answer to her obvious question.
I smiled at him and he smiled back. He grabbed my hand and held in on his leg.
"Jane, Do you even like this show?" I asked her.
"Meh." She said leaning towards no.
"Do you want to change it?" Jane asked.
"Kinda. This is getting creepy." I said as she handed the remote to me.
"Thank you." I said as I grabbed the remote.
I flipped through the channels and saw one of my favorite shows, the walking dead. I clicked on it and set the remote beside my leg.
"Are you sure you will be able to watch this?" Jake said kind of concerned.
I frowned as I went to change the channel. Instead, I decided on Bar Rescue.
"Okay." He said smiling.
"What?" I said wondering why he thought my channel is funny.
"Just that you are so beautiful while you look for a show to watch." He said which made me start blushing.
*Ring Ring*
"I got it." Jake said as he got up.
Hello?
silence.
Hello?
silence.
Seriously? If you call someone you SPEAK to them.He came back over and sat beside me holding me closer as if he is protecting me.
"Who was that?" I said.
"I don't know." Jake said.
When he said those words I knew who it had to be. My heart started racing and I was starting to become hot and sweaty.
Everything went dark.
