Demon : Chapter Forty-Nine

Beth's POV

I woke up next to one of my favorite people in the world. Except for that I felt horrible though. My headache is kicking back in and pounding.

"Morning, Beth. How are you?" Jake asked.

I held my head since it pounded more when he spoke.

"Head, again." I whispered quietly.

"Sorry, I will get pain killers." Jake mouthed but I understood every word.

I closed my eyes trying to make my head feel better. Jake slowly walked back in the room and handed me the pills and a cup of water.

"Thank you." I whispered.

Jake sat down beside me as I took the pills.

"Love you." Jake mouthed.

"Love you too." I mouthed.

He smiled and laid beside me. I snuggled into him and felt the safest I've ever felt. Everything is actually going to be different.

I guess I fell asleep again because I woke up again.

"Morning, again." Jake said smiling.

I smiled at him and rolled my eyes. My head felt so much better so I got up.

"Feeling better?" Jake whispered.

"Yeah, much better." I said.

"Good." Jake said.

We walked out of the room and headed for the kitchen for breakfast. We got down and saw my mother cooking.

"Morning, Beth." My mother said as she flipped what was in the pan.

"Morning, mom. Where is Jane?" I asked.

"Still sleeping, probably since she hardly slept when you were gone." My mother said which broke my heart.

As I frowned, Jane walked out from behind me and hugged me.

"Morning, Jane!" I said picking her up.

"Morning, sis." Jane said smiling.

"Beth?" Jake said as I put Jane down.

"Yeah?" I asked him.

"Since you missed your birthday, I figured I will take you out for a dinner." Jake said which made me smile.

"Of course, that would be great. Just one place I don't want to go." I said.

"Where is that?" Jake asked.

"Harry's." I said remembering the dinner with Andrew and May.

"Okay." Jake said.

I smiled at him and went back to the kitchen.

"Beth, your plate is there." My mother said pointing to a plate on the table.

"Okay, thank you." I said as I went over and started to eat.

After eating, I started to feel funny. Then u realized what it was. I gave Jake wide eyes and ran to the bathroom. Leaning over the toliet, I threw up involuntary.

"You okay?" Jake asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said.

"Are you sure? Was it on purpose or involuntary?" Jake asked.

"Involuntary, but I'm fine now." I said.

"Okay." Jake said as he followed me back to my family.

"Are you alright, honey?" Matt asked.

I saw Matt right in front of me and I had to be dreaming or hallucinating.

"Ahhh!" I screamed as I ran up the stairs.

I heard Jake follow me, or maybe it was Matt.

"Baby, What's wrong? What just happened?" Jake asked.

"I s-saw Matt." I said to Jake.

"You must have imagined it." Jake said.

"You're right." I said as I walked back down the stairs with Jake.

Nope, still there.

"Jake, he is still there." I said to him.

"What the hell do you want?" I screamed at Matt.

"You." Matt said as he gave a sinister smile and disappeared.

"Jake he said he wanted me and then disappeared." I told him.

"You have to be imagining it." Jake said

"No, he is trying to get me killed so I can be with him and not you." I said to Jake.

"Baby, it's fine." Jake said as he pulled me into his grasp.

"Jake, just believe me." I said to him.

"Okay, I believe you." Jake said.

"Okay." I said.

"How about we watch some TV to get your mind calmed down?" Jake asked.

"Sure." I said.

He turned the TV on and it was on no other than Bar Rescue.

"Change it." I said immediately.

Jake changed it immediately and set the remote down. We watched TV for hours and I was starting to get hungry.

"Wanna go get ready for dinner?"

"Yeah." I said as I went up the stairs to get ready.

I was picking out a dress and found the perfect one. It was black and has rhinestones on the top. I was going to wear it for prom but I missed it since the kidnapping.

"Ready." I said as I went down the stairs and saw Jake in a suit.

"Woah." Jake said.

"What?" I asked.

"You look beautiful. No, more than that. No words can describe your beauty." Jake said as he grabbed my hand.

"Hey, you're looking sharp yourself." I said as I smiled at him.

Jake smiled and signaled for my mother to come over to us.

"Here, can you take a picture?" Jake asked as my mother grabbed the camera.

She snapped a couple pictures and smiled at us.

"Here." My mother said handing the phone back to Jake.

"Thank you." Jake said.

"You look amazing." My mother told me.

"Thank you." I said smiling at my mother.

"Don't go." Matt said as he appeared behind my mother.

I gave Matt a death stare and grabbed Jake's hand. Wanting to make Matt's ghost/whatever that is, I kissed Jake on his cheek.

Matt gave a very disproving amd angry look and disappeared.

"Ready?" Jake asked me as he squeezed my hand.

"Yeah, of course. Let's go!" I said happy to get away from all of this.

"Okay, then let's go." Jake said as he led me out the door and to his truck.

Matt was standing in front of the passenger door.

"I'm warning you, don't go." Matt's ghost said.

The ghost disappeared and I hopped into the passenger seat. How dare Matt come into my life again???

Jake started the car and drove out of the driveway.
