Forest : Chapter Thirty-Two

Beth's POV

Jake finally woke up.

"Good afternoon." I told Jake joking with him.

"Afternoon to you too." He said playing along.

I smiled at him and remembered we needed to get my mother.

"Hey, we have to get my mom out of the hospital. They said they need the beds." I told him.

He frowned not wanting to leave.

"Beth, it's not safe." Jake said.

"We have to get her." I said.

"How about I go and you and Jane stay here with an officer?" Jake suggested.

"Sure, but you HAVE to be careful." I told him.

"I will, some officers were going to go with me." He said which lifted some weight off my shoulders.

"Okay." I said as he got up to leave.

"I love you, Beth." Jake said.

"I love you too, Jake." I said as I got up and gave him a huge hug.

He kissed my forehead and left.

"Come here." Jane said as she patted the bed to sit next to her.

I went over and sat by her.

"How you doing?" I asked Jane.

"I should be asking you that." Jane said to me which made me smile.

"I'm okay. I could be so much better." I said to her not wanting to lie.

"Sorry." She said.

We sat in silence until...

"HEY!" Someone had yelled.

My anxiety went wild as the officer at our cell ran to the noise.

Thud. Thud.

I heard thuds and everything was silent. I knew I had to do something. I went to open the cell door but it was locked...

"Hey, babe. I told you I would see you again." A too familiar voice said.

"Jane, Get to that corner." I said as I didn't move my gaze from Matt.

Jane followed directions and went to the corner I pointed to.

"I really have missed you, Beth." Matt said as he walked toward the cell door.

Jake's POV

I got to the hospital parking lot and headed straight for the door of the hospital.

"Hey, I'm here to bring Raven Jones home. You said that you needed the beds?" I said to the lady at the desk.

"I didn't say that." The lady said as I literally heard my heart break.

"I have to go." I said as I ran out the door and drove back fast to the police station.

Beth's POV

I told Jane to go to the corner of the cell.

"Get away from me, NOW!" I yelled.

"I can't baby, we are meant to be." Matt said.

"No, we're not!" I yelled at him.

He pulled out some keys from his pocket and spinned them on his index finger. I realized what the keys were for.

"Don't even dare." I said.

"Oh, baby, how else will I get to you?" Matt said as he stuck the key in the hole.

"I will kill you!" I yelled at him as I heard the door click.

*click*

At that point my heart broke but I knew I would need to be ready to fight.

He opened the door.

"Can we just talk? Then I will go with you." I said to Matt as he stopped walking towards me.

"Okay, but if Jake comes in..." He said as he pulled out a gun.

My eyes went wide, I knew I would have to make it quick.

"You say you love me, but you say I will have to be punished by my father." I said.

"Yes, I know. I won't let him hurt you, but I had to team up with him to get you out of here. I will kill him once I get you safe." Matt whispered as if my father was close by.

"Is he here?" I asked.

"No, he is at a house. I won't take you there. He thinks I will but I will take you far away from there. He wanted to kill you." Matt said as he grabbed my hand.

"Get off!" I yelled at him.

"Hey, you're mine." Matt said.

I knew I would have to make up an excuse.

"But my hands still hurt." I said although they felt fine.

"Sorry, but we need to go. We wouldn't want Jake shot." He said as he let go.

"Okay." I said.

He led me out of the cell.

"Jane, I love you. Tell Jake I love him." I said as I got a slap across the face.

*Slap*

"Do not talk about other guys like that!" Matt said.

"I know, but I have to let him down easy." I said as I was trying to get him to trust me.

"I love you." He said as we were right outside of the door of the cell.

I took my chance and bolted away to the doors and ran outside. I felt free but before I was tackled. I was pinned to the ground with Matt on top of me.

"Get off of me!" I screamed hoping someone would come and help.

He pinned my hands to the rough pavement. I could feel my skin getting cut and I took another chance and used a technique to get him off of me. I bucked my hips up and made him fall off and lose his balance. He hit the pavement and I started to get up to run. I ran to the trees that would help me hide a little to escape.

"Beth, GET BACK HERE!" Matt yelled as he was gaining distance to me.

I ran into the forest and ran out another side to a public place.

"I will find you!!!" Matt yelled into the forest I was in.

Matt ran into the forest I was in and got closer to me, although he didn't see me.

I remembered Jane and hoped she was okay.

I hid in between a couple of bushes.
