Bloody Love: Chapter Twenty-Five

Beth's POV

I walked into the house to see a horrific sight.

There was blood everywhere, splattered on the walls, floor, and the ceiling.

I backed up from the doorway and fainted in a man's arms.

Jake's POV

I followed Beth to the door with the bags. She opened the door and blood was everywhere. Then all of a sudden she fainted and went to fall backwards. Dropping the bags quickly, I ran over and caught her in my arms.

"Beth, wake up." I said trying to wake her up.

Jane was following behind me and stopped when she saw what happened.

"Jane, go back in the truck. I will get Beth and we are leaving." I told Jane.

"O-okay." She said as she went to get back I the truck.

I picked Beth up and ran to the truck and put her in the passenger seat. I put her seat belt on and then I ran to the other side of the truck and got in the truck.

"Where are we going?" Jane asked confused.

"To the police." I said to her.

I started the truck and headed for the police office. I finally arrived there and went to pick up Beth because I am not going to let her out of my sight. I grabbed Beth.

"Woah, where are we?" Beth asked.

"The police station. Remember what happened?" I asked

"Oh, yeah." She said.

I put her down and grabbed her hand. Jane followed but went in front of us heading toward the door. We got to the door and I opened the door for Jane and Beth.

"Sir, do you know if Matthew Brown is still in jail?" I asked the officer.

"Yeah, he is still at the Keystone, Wisconsin jail. He will be moved to this jail tomorrow since they don't have a room for him there." The officer said.

"Okay, thank you. But we have a situation, someone got blood splattered everywhere in my house." I said.

"Okay. I will send some officers there and a detective right now." He said as he went in another door.

The officer came back with other officers and a detective.

"In the meantime, don't go near either of your houses. Go to a hotel or something." The officer said.

"Okay, thank you." I said.

Beth's POV

I grabbed Jake's hand when we walked out of the police station.

"We'll be okay." Jake said.

I grabbed Jane's hand and we walked to the truck. We all got in.

"Well what hotel do you want to go to?" Jake asked.

"I don't know." I said as I started to cry.

"How about I go to a nice hotel and then we will talk?" He asked.

"Okay." I said.

He drove to a hotel and he got out and grabbed my hand. I grabbed Jane's hand and we walked inside the hotel.

"Hi Ma'am, Can we get a room?" Jake asked the lady at the desk.

"Um, yes. We only have a room with one bed but it has a couch too." The lady said.

"That will be fine." Jake said.

We paid for the room and she gave us the key and we went to the room. We got in the room and Jane grabbed the TV remote and sat on the couch, watching TV.

"So, I was thinking, what if when Matt comes to the Davenport Jail, we go and ask what happened with my house." Jake said.

"Okay." I said sadly.

"What's wrong?" Jake asked concerned.

"I just feel it is all my fault that your house is like that now." I said tearing up.

"No, it isn't your fault. Right now the only thing that matters is that you and Jane are safe." Jake said.

I smiled at him and hugged him and did not want to ever let go. I laid down on the bed and cuddled up next to Jake.

"Beth?" Jake asked.

"Yeah?" I asked as I looked up at him.

"I love you. I love your smile, personality, just everything about you." Jake said genuinely.

"I love you too." I told Jake smiling at him knowing I really do love him.

"So, are we official?" He asked like an eager little kid.

I smiled at his expression and he smiled back.

"Yes." I said.

He smiled the biggest smile and I cuddled back into his chest and fell asleep.

Matt's POV

The officers were talking and I heard they were talking about moving me to the jail in Davenport. Davenport is Beth's town she lives in. I miss her so much and hope that she is doing well.

I will get out of here and get her back with me. She belongs with me.
