The next morning for school I dunno why but I was feeling real confident. I put on a white pleated skirt just long enough to cover my thighs. A gray crop top. I slept with my hair in braids so that is was wavy. I picked my brand new Michael kors bag that Shaw bought me. He said my mom had one just like it when she was in high school. I picked up my gray cable knit cardigan with white bits of fabric in it and draping it over the handles of my bag. Putting on the charm bracelet that was my mom's I found in the box along with her engagement ring, locket and wedding ring necklace. I loved wearing things that were my mom and dad's, it made me feel connected to them.

Shawn: wow, you look beautiful.

Riley: thanks

Shawn: No really, confidence looks good on you.

Riley: might because I'm not hiding a big part of my life anymore

Shawn: don't forget you meeting with Cams today okay at school in room 1009 at 12:15

Riley: I won't don't worry!

As I left my house I was walking down my path as I saw Lucas on his lawn. I threw him a smile and a wave before crossing the street and Waiting at the bus stop.

As I was walking down the hall at school. I felt good about myself. I wasn't trying to hide myself, from people. I got a few hellos and smiles. As I opened my locker I saw a single multi-colored rose and a little note strapped to it.

Lucas sat behind me in homeroom. I could feel his eyes on me. I didn't mind either. As I got up I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see Lucas with his hands in his pockets looking down.

Lucas: hey.

Riley: oh hey, thanks for the rose.

Lucas: my pleasure. Do you like wanna go on a proper date tonight?  like to the movies.

Riley: I would love to

Lucas: pick you up at 8?

Riley: absolutely, Erm what should I wear?

Lucas: what your wearing now is perfect.

Riley: okay well see you at 8.

Lucas: You shall.

As Lucas walked out the room I couldn't help but smile.

*later that day *

Riley: uncle Shawn door.

Shawn: I got it.

I watched Shawn answer the door to see Lucas standing there with a bunch on mixed red and white rose's and a box of chocolates.

Lucas: these are for you.

Riley: There beautiful, thanks.

Lucas: you're beautiful.

Riley: let me just go put them in water, I'll be right out.

As I got back to the door Lucas took me by my hand as I closed the door

Riley: back by 12

Shawn: No you won't don't lie have fun.

Riley: thanks.

Lucas took me for a walk round the village. Before we went to go see the new Rowan Blanchard movie invisible sister.

Lucas: I think you look like her

Riley: really I don't see it.

Lucas: Well I mean you are a prettier and you eyes glisten a lot more.

Riley: you think my eyes glisten?

Lucas: absolutely.

Lucas walked me back to my front door as he leaned in for a hug. The hug seemed last forever. As I pulled away I looked into his eyes, his piercing green eyes shining in the moonlight. I leaned in for a kiss. As lips touching. My tummy did cartwheels and I could feel my heart pounding. It was a magical moment.

Lucas: I'll see you tomorrow then yes.

Riley: Yes you shall.

I watched Lucas walk down the path until I walked through the door bumping Shawn on the nose.

Riley: uncle Shawn were you spying on me?!

Shawn: What no I just happened to be looking out the peep hole as you came home.

Riley: yeah yeah okay well I'm going to bed.

Shawn: goodnight

Riley: night.

As I walked into my room I saw Lucas getting ready to go to sleep through my window. All I could see was the biggest smile ever on his face. It made my tummy flutter.
