I grabbed Edwards tool box yanking out a screwdriver and grabbing a bottle of gin from the cabinet as I hurried into the bathroom slamming the door behind me. I could hear Lucas trying to bang my door down. Flooding my phone with texts. I ran a smoking hot bath. As the water was falling out of the tap into the tub. I put all my construction in unscrewing my razor so I could have a blade and hunting down all the pills I could find. Once the bath was full enough I hoped in not bothering to take any of my clothes off. The water burnt my flesh but it was nothing like the pain I was already feeling. Why did Lucas have to suggest are date that's not a date?

I took my bottle of gin in my shaky hands downing half then using the other half to get as many pills down me as I possibly could before picking up the blade and slitting my arms and thighs open. I carved sorry into thigh. I could feel my eyes getting heavy. Just as they were closing I heard my front door fall down. I could no longer see. All I could hear was Lucas shouting my name while calling 911 and grasping my hand squeezing it tight begging me not to go. To not leave him. I could hear him begging me not to leave that we were destined to be together. The next thing I remember is woke up in the hospital room.

I saw Lucas plant a kiss on a girls lips outside before walking in.

Lucas: Oh you're awake.

Riley: Yeah so you can go now.

Lucas: why?

Riley: I heard what you said. Begging me not to go not to leave you that we were destined to be together, but you know what I wish you didn't say it. I wish you didn't save me. I'm so done with this world. I'm so done with you.

Just as Lucas as about to speak I saw Shawn fly into the room.

Shawn: Get out!

Lucas: Shawn i-

Shawn: JUST GET OUT!

I felt tears run down my face. This time the tears were really salty and burned my eyes.

Shawn: Riley, I've already lost your parents I'm not gonna loose the one thing I have left connected to Cory.

Riley: What the point in life? what's the point in living?

Shawn: okay Riley look, I'm gonna be here I'm not gonna leave you. We're going to get help.

I could feel my tears falling faster. That all I ever wanted someone to say to me.

Riley: are you sure? I don't wanna be a bother!

Shawn: I'm positive. I'm not losing you too.

The next day I got discharge from hospital. Emily and Edward were told by social services that they were no longer allowed to see me. That the house I was living in was now owned by Shawn. I left the hospital in light blue slightly baggy high waisted ripped jeans with the ankles rolled up, with a white top tucking in and a chunky black belt. As we pulled up outside my house Shawn helped me out of the car. As I was walking up the path I saw Lucas looking at me from out his kitchen window. I gave him a weak smile before turning away and entering my house. Why had he done all this to me but I still wanted to be nice to him. I still cared.

The house didn't look that different Emily and Edward had only taken their clothes. Most of the furniture was still here. But yet it felt different. Like I was a whole new me.

As I was laying in bed that afternoon. I heard the door knock. I was about to get up as I heard Shawn answer the door. Everything went silent. I slowly crept out of bed listing at the

Lucas: Shawn, let me explain...

Shawn: fine you have 5 minutes

Lucas: I care about Riley I really do. I'm just a little scared of commitments. My father left my momma when I was 9 I was going from New York to Texas every other week. I would watch my dad come home with a new girl every night. I just thought it was the norm you know. But Riley. I really wanna love her. More than anything. But it afraid she won't like the real me.

Shawn: look. I know she likes you. Even after all this. There's something about you that makes me know you're sincere. Just act like it. Or next time we both might loose her.
