Chapter 26: "Welcome to the Family"

"No Easton. I'm not leaving until I have you in my arms.. I'm not leaving until you are home..." Jay stepped towards them.

"Look Mom or Lady.. I'm not coming home.. I never will come home and you should know the reason by now.. You chose your boyfriend over ME. Your own son... You chose heroin over me... You chose beer and liquor over me.. I'm not coming back or going home with someone who thinks it's okay for that.. I'm not doing that because I was almost killed that night you and Bryan had that fight.. He threw a bottle of liquor at my face.. See I still have the scar.. Then he punched me.. Until I was nearly dead... Mom you must not get it.. Because you brought two officers here after what I just said they will never make me go back.. Even if you are my mother.. And just because you are doesn't mean you've ever acted like one.." Easton sat down before he would punch her..

"Hey East, let's go bud." Jay tapped his back and he just moved a little..

"No I'm good... I don't know if I want to anymore.. My night was ruined." Jay scoffed.

"Well we can just pick up pizza then go home but I'm pretty sure you'd want to see the surprise at the district..." Easton smiled and got up.

"Okay.." Easton climbed into the car and Jay drove to the district..  Jack started laughing as Easton was tickling him.

"No no! Stop!" He yelled.. Easton chuckled.

"No Jack, I think I'm good.." He started laughing.

"No no!" Jack yelled again.

"Jay, I can't believe we are having another kid..."

"Me either baby.. I'm excited though.. I can't wait to see you hold our child.. Our baby for the first time." Jay chuckled then parked his car..

They all walked inside and it was the same thing.. The district..

"Hey Easton, what happened to your leg?" He chuckled.

"Um the basketball camp.. Actually... I was pushed and my leg cracked then it broke.. So I'll be on crutches for the first day of High School.. Real fun."

Easton smiled then chuckled. "Oh I'm sorry East. Anyway's Happy Early  Birthday." Easton smiled then walked upstairs.

"Wait East! Let me go first.." Easton followed his parents up the stairs.. Jack followed them.. When they got up the steps Easton looked around and saw a sign saying Happy Birthday..

"Happy Birthday Easton!" Owen yelled.. He smiled then hugged his best friend.

Aidyn walked up holding a card she hugged Erin.

"Happy Birthday Easton!" He waved and shook his head.. Jack went running towards Hank. He didn't stop until he fell and hit his head.

"Damn it!" Jay yelled, he ran towards Jack and picked him up.

"Dada.. Ow.. No." He held the top of his head.

"Hey bud.. Daddy's here.."

Nat looked up at Will then back at Owen.. "I have some news... I guess big news.... We are having a baby." Nat smiled big.. Erin walked over and hugged her.

"Congrats Will, Nat!" They both shook their heads.

Erin looked over at Jay then they both nodded... They decided to wait until they took the pictures..

"Well we have a new member.. Easton Halstead.." Everyone clapped but as they did Hank called Jay into his office.

"Hey Hank! Thanks for letting us have this here." He shook his head then Jay sat down.

"I'm proud of you and Erin. I'm very thankful for you, Jay, she was sad before you came because Camille had just well you know.. I was worried about her spiraling again and she didn't.. I'm proud of you for taking Easton in and I know that must be hard with Jackson and all." Jay shook his head.

"It hasn't been hard yet. We are gonna go enroll him in the high school.. But Hank, thanks for giving me Erin. I really do love her. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me ever since my friends died and me nearly dieing. I'm really thankful for her and the boys.."

"Also Congrats.." Jay looked confused

"About what?" He started panicking.

"About adopting Easton.. Have fun." Hank chuckled.

Jay walked out of the office and sat next to Erin. He on his arm around her. Jack ran around the bullpen screaming because Owen was chasing him.

"Happy Birthday Easton." Kevin said before leaving.

"Thanks..."

"So Aidyn, are you single?" Easton asked looking back at Owen.

"Yeah I am.." She chuckled looking back at her uncle. He shook his head.

"Would you want to go out for ice cream?" She stepped back a little.

"Sure.. Owen should come.." Owen turned around and did a tiny celebration.

"I'll come!" Easton sighed. He sat down and looked at Jay. Erin picked Jack up before they left.

Jay opened the door to the house once they got home.. Jay put Jack down and let him run around. He walked into his room in his drawer.. He grabbed his pair of Dogtags and walked to the living room where Easton was..

Erin stood in the kitchen washing out bottles.

"Easton, I want you to have these.. They are my dog tags and they saved my life and I hope they can save yours one day.. Wear them and wear them proudly.. I want you to know you'll always be safe no matter what. You'll have me and Erin with you.. I love you son. I love you just as much as I love Jack and the little baby." Easton started crying. He got up and wrapped his arms around Jay.

"Thank you.." He said quietly.

"Y'all are about the best thing that's ever happened to me.." Erin walked out the kitchen and kissed Jay..

"We have to go.. Pictures." Erin chuckled walking away.

"Erin, what pictures?" Jay asked, smiling.

"Just put on nice clothes. That's all Jay. Easton put on your nice polo and shoes. Okay?" Easton shook his head.

"Sure?" He walked to his room and got dressed.

"Happy Birthday Easton!" Jay yelled. Jack started running away from My Erin but Easton got in front of him and pick him up.

"You aren't going anywhere's." Easton started tickling him then he handed him to Erin..

"No no Momma." He slapped her.

"Jackson Richard, one more time and you are getting an ass whoppin'." He shook his head.

"No no." Erin gave him a look and he stopped. He let his mom dress him then they both left to the photographers.

"Hey Aimee. Nice to meet you again." Erin shook her hand.

"You too.. So what did you want to do for today?"
Erin cleared he throat.

"I want the boys holding a sign saying that I'm pregnant or Easton holding Jack and Jack holding the ultrasound photo.. Then Jay and I in the background.." Erin smiled looking back at her boys.

"Mom is crazy.. I hate pictures." Jay chuckled.

"Oh get used to them.. You'll be taking them for every holiday." Easton rolled his eyes.

"Relax boys.. It's only a couple pictures.." He stood up and hopped to where she told him to go.

"Stand here and hold Jack in your arms." He complied and stood there holding Jack. Jack held the pictures in his hand. Looking at the camera smiling with his gummy lips..

Erin and Jay both stood out of the picture for the first one then they both t in. Erin held Jack on her hip then Jay put his hand on Easton's shoulder, they smiled then they took the pictures.

"It's over.. Finally." Easton proclaimed making Jay laugh..
