Jay opened the letter smiling big. He couldn't wait to see what they were having. It was a snowy December morning and Jay loved every minute of it. Jack was almost two and Easton was almost 16. Jay didn't want his boys growing up but he knew they had too. Easton and Aidyn were becoming more and more close together. She was still having feelings for Owen and Easton wanted to respect that.
"Dad,Can I go out with Aidyn and Owen?" Easton hopped into the kitchen with his crutches.
"You just got surgery. You should be in your bed,not out here." Easton moaned.
"Well, I feel better." Jay scoffed
"Easton you are staying home end of story. Your Mom and I are going shopping for the baby. So we'll see you later. Could you babysit Jack?" Easton rolled his eyes.
"Oh why should I baby sit him? I just asked to do one thing go out with my friends. And I get shit for it just because I just had surgery. It's all your fault I had to get it. I'm not watching him ask your sister or better yet your dad to watch him." Easton grabbed a bottle of water then started walking to his room.
"Easton Joseph Halstead, what the hell is wrong? I never made you get on that four-wheeler. I've been nothing but good to you son. If you can't appreciate that then go live with your mom again." Easton scoffed
"Maybe that's the problem Dad!" Easton marched on his crutches to his room, slamming his door. Jay scoffed and walked to his room. He saw Erin crying on the bed.
"Er,what's wrong?" He asked pulling her in for a tight hug.
"I don't know Jay. I'm just hormonal I guess." Erin laughed.
"I'm sorry Jay." Erin cried more clinging tighter to Jay.
"I don't care babe. I wouldn't have it any other way." Jay kissed her forehead,he glanced over to Easton holding Jack in the doorway.
"Dad,I'm sorry." Easton croaked
"Bud,it's fine. I guess I'm still not realizing how fragile your feelings can be."
"I'll watch Jack for you. You two can go spend the day together.. You won't get that much when the baby comes." Jay opened his arms up for Easton to come by him.
They all heard the doorbell ring. Easton turned around still holding Jack he walked to the door.
He opened it up. "Hello?" On the other side was a boy his age. He never met him before.
"Is Erin Lindsay here?" He asked
"MOM! It's for you!" Easton yelled. He put Jack down and he went running to his playroom. Erin walked to the door and noticed TJ Annie's son.
"TJ! What are you doing here is everything okay?" Erin asked pulling him in for a hug.
"No.. I I was nearly killed last night... I didn't know where to go. I'm sorry for bothering you.. It's just I miss my mom.."
"No sweetie you are fine. Come in. Jay!" Erin yelled. Jay ran towards the front door
"Er, what's wrong?"
"Do you remember Annie? S she was killed a couple years back.. This is her son Travis... We call him TJ."
"Hi.." Jay shook his hand.
"I I didn't know what to do.. I was coming home from school when I was robbed and then Charlie Puglazzi was following me.. He told me to meet up with him.. I Said no.. Then he said I owed him something." Erin covered he mouth.
"Bud you don't owe anyone anything.. You can stay here.. If you'd like.." Erin said. TJ hugged his Aunt tighter.
Easton sat down in the kitchen reading his phone..
