February 19th

Erin woke up the next morning and saw that Jay had left. She got up and got Jack dressed.

Easton was already at school, he was in first period.
"Mr. Martin, may I add something?" Easton asked

He shook his head.. "Now we already heard my opinion last time.. Anyone wanna add? This is not okay.."

"Easton what's not okay?" Isaiah asked

"Isaiah you already know. Don't start with me. Saying that I can't wear my dog tags.... I am allowed to, one this is a public school. Second these are what keep me safe. I don't care if they offend you. I could care less.. My dad wore these, and they kept him safe.."

"Your dads dead.." One kid mumbled

"What? Last I checked these have my last name on them.. Halstead? Does it ring a bell Tyler?" Easton hissed

"Yeah it does smart ass.." Easton sat down and stared right into Aidyn's eyes..

"Aidyn, has anyone told you lately how beautiful you are?" Aidyn blushed, Owen smacked his arm.

"Stop hitting on my girlfriend.. I told you I would win.." Owen smiled

"It's still on till the day we leave for the Army.." They both fist bumped and laughed. The bell rung and they both ran out the room.

"Easton, stay. I need to talk to you.." Mr. Martin said

"Yes Sir.." Easton wiped the smile off his face.

"I recommended you to Mrs. Ortiz's 11th grade social studies class.. Also you were invited to the 9/11 memorial for your essay.."

"What do you mean my essay?"
His teacher smiled big

"I sent in your essay about 9/11... The president loved it. The president wants you to present it."

"Wait what?" Easton said nearly speechless

"Your speech about 9/11 made it to the president and he wants you to present it at the memorial on 9/11.."

"They thought it was good? I didn't think so." Easton said

"Yeah.. They love it. They also love your PTSD essay.." Easton sat down and smiled

"I didn't mean for the essays to get that far. I just wanted to write about them.. It's two things that I am very interested in.." His teacher smiled and wrote a letter.

"You have history.. 2:15 with Mrs. Ortiz." Easton shook his head. It was 2:10 already.. So he decided to keep moving.

"Also the principal wants you to say your speech on Friday. In front of the whole school." Easton's face went blank. He walked out of the room and power walked to the class.

He opened the door and smiled.. "Mrs. Ortiz?" He said politely

"Yes sir.. What's your name?" Easton cleared his throat.

"Halstead Easton. Nice to meet you."

"Wait are you the 9th grader?" Easton shook his head.

"Yes Ma'am.." She shook her head and pointed to a seat..

"So Easton, we were just discussing the Civil War.. Tell us about yourself." Easton looked around at all the juniors in the class and smiled creepily.

"Well I'm 15, my name is Easton and I love basketball.. And I was adopted by my dads best friend." The teacher shook her head and smiled.

"Easton that is nice.. You also will be getting two credits since you are skipping 10th grade history." Easton's mouth shot open.
