Chapter 48: "It's Not The End"

Jay paced the waiting room as he waited for news on his kids. It had been 5 hour since both of them went into surgery. No one knew what had happened. All everyone could do is pray that they both made it.

Easton woke up in heaven.. He looked and saw no one.. Until he saw a shadow come up from behind the tree. He saw Owen standing up against it.

"Owen?! Where am I?" Owen smiled and walked towards his friend. He pulled him in for a hug.

"One you are in heaven... I'm here to tell you everything is going to be alright. I promise East.. Everything is going to fall back in place. Without me.." Easton started crying.

"He's right East..." Kevin said walking out. He smiled and walked towards Easton and hugged him.

"Uncle Kevin?" Kevin shook his head.

"Everything is going to be okay without us... I know there's someone you probably want to meet..." Kevin smiled at Caroline who was standing back staring at her son.

"Easton Joseph, I need you to go back. I know your uncle needs you.. More than you need him.. He can't lose you.. I I know you don't want to." Caroline said softly

"Mom, w why didn't you get out of there? Y you could have lived..." Easton said starting to cry.

"I I know.. I I'm sorry bud.. I I really am.. I I just want you to know I I almost didn't go into work.. Y you were sick that day. I I was debating on it. I I didn't want to, but your father said to go.. He had you.. H he did..." Caroline pulled her son into his arms.

"Mom, you could still be alive.. Dad c could still be alive.."

"Easton I I named you after your grandfather.. His middle name is Joseph.. Your uncle and I never had a good relationship with him, bu but I decided I should name you after him. Easton you have to go back.. I I promise one day w we will meet again.. But until then go back, and make sure you tell your uncle I miss him, and to know that I'm gonna keep him safe.. Make sure you do your best in everything.. It'll get better without us.." Caroline smiled and hugged her son tighter.

"I love you East, nothing gets better unless you do something about it.." Kevin said giving him a hug.

"If you hadn't died. If you were still there.. My family wouldn't be broken apart.. I love you Uncle Kev.. I'll see you soon.." Kevin punched his arm and smiled

"No you won't. I don't want to see you back here until you are 90.."

"That's a long time without my best friend, but I think I'll manage when I see that God is going to bless you with a miracle.." Owen said hugging him.

"He hasn't blessed me yet who knows when he will! I lose everyone close to me, my aunt and uncle are getting a divorce. I'm in a freaking coma, my sister might not make it. Her kid might be motherless. Nothing is going the way it's supposed to be. You two aren't supposed to be dead. Luke's dad never should have died. NONE OF THIS SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED, if it weren't for those 19 men I wouldn't have lost my mom... I I stopped believing.." Easton yelled

He stepped back and closed his eyes.. He was back into reality.

"Jay! Any news?" Luke asked

"N no.. Not yet." Jay said trying to reassure himself.

Jack came running into Chicago Med, after Camille had gone and picked him up from school. Levi held his grandma's hand.

"Mommy! Are they going to be okay?" Jack asked as he hugged his mom.

"Bud I don't know. Wanna go see JJ?" Erin asked giving a look to Luke.

"Come on J." Luke said grabbing his hand and walking upstairs with him.

"NO I WANT EASTON I DONT WANT YOU LUKE! NO WHERE IS HE?" Jack yelled

Luke bent down and pulled him in for a hug. "Look bud, Easton is going to be okay. He's in surgery, he's a hero he saved your big sister Mallory he saved my best friend. Come on let's go see James...." Jack shook his head

"But Luke, why did he save Mal?" Jack asked

"Because bad guys took her, and Easton didn't want her gone, because then JJ would have lost his mommy. I would have lost my best friend.. you would have lost your big sister. Look J, Easton decided to be a hero.."

"But now he might not make it Luke. Was he scared?"

"Of course bud. Everyone is scared but you can't let your fear conquer faith...."

Jack shook his head and gave him a hug. Luke smiled at everyone who was watching them.

"Now can we go see them?" Jack asked

Luke smiled and shook his head. Jack grabbed his hand and pulled Luke up to the elevator..

Jay turned his head towards Erin and smiled. "Erin he's going to be alright. They both are.." Jay assured her

Erin smiled.

"Jack, his name is JJ."

"What's his real name?" Jack asked

"Oh bud. His real name is James Joseph.. But we call him JJ for short just like we call you Jack for short.." Jack smiled

"Luke, do you love Mallory?" Jack asked. Luke ruffled his hair and smiled.

"Of course I do bud. That's why I asked her to marry me. She's my best friend.. Look bud if you are worried about me hurting her. I never will. She's my one and only.."

"I am never worried.." Jack smiled and tapped on the glass amazed at the little baby.

"I like him." Jack said

"Well kiddo you gotta like him..." Jack started laughing.

"I love you Luke." He said before giving his "big bro" a hug.

"I love you too kid."

Jay kept pacing the waiting room waiting for answer. He turned his head and noticed Will standing in front of him.

"N o no don't tell me Will.."

"Well.."

Guys I'm dead serious this is almost over and I'm gonna cry.. Just three more chapters...
