“Kathryn,” Dad walked by her room and yelled, “It’s time to get up.”

Kathryn never fell asleep last night. She was too busy over thinking everything! She pulled herself out of bed and tried to compose herself. She was running on zero hours of sleep so it was going to be a very long day. Instead of trying to look cute, she put on some baggy jeans and a purple Washington D.C. sweatshirt. She tied her hair up in a messy ponytail and walked out the door.

*.*.*

She sat in her first class with her head on her desk trying hard to fall asleep. Half way htrough the class, the familiar voice sounded in her ear, “I see you too my suggestion. You look cute,” He teased annoyingly causing her to smirk. She lifted her head and dropped the smirk to glare at him.

“You did this to me,” She spewed.

“What,” He lifted his eyebrows, “Caused you to jump out of your grave? Because you look like the walking dead.”

“I didn’t get any sleep last night because of you,” She responded angrily.

“Aww,” He put his hand to his chest, “I’m glad that thoughts of me haunt your dreams at night.” Kathryn again narrowed her eyes at him and scoffed. She wondered how someone could be sincerely thoughtful and loving one day and arrogant the next day.

“You’re impossible,” She shifted in her chair to face away from him causing him to frown.

“Hey, look,” He stopped her by grabbing her shoulder, “I’m sorry, okay? I did mean what I said yesterday but I don’t really know how to address it now. I mean I never really got that far ahead in planning that out and I’ve never really been in this situation before.”

“Neither have I,” She reminded him.

                “What situation are you in?”

“I’m a part of this,” She snapped, “You’re the one who told me that you-“

He stopped her, “I know what I told you; I was there.”

“What,”  She smirked teasingly, “Too embarrassed to hear that you told me you lo-“

“Stop it, Baxter,” He inched closer to her.

                “You love-“

“Baxter,” He inched another set closer to her, “I mean it.”

“You love me,” She finished teasing and he grumbled at her causing her to laugh lightly.

“I’m glad you find it so amusing,” He glared are her causing Kathryn to feel accomplished. She hadn’t yet told him about her feelings but she wasn’t planning on giving in so soon. “So what do we do from here?”

“Excuse me,” Her head snapped at him caught slightly off guard and uncertain about what he meant. “I don’t follow.”

“What,” He smirked, “You don’t think I’m going to tell you I love you and not do anything about it, do you?” He winked at her and shifted in his chair to fit more comfortably. Kathryn felt a little uneasy and wanted desperately to change the subject but she knew he wouldn’t let her after he witnessed her uneasiness. He thrived on her nerves; it made him feel superior. “So would you like to go on a date with me?’
