As a member of a nationwide organization that defends the country, it was really advised that you would take your job seriously. Waaaay seriously.

The fact that you were inlove with a cool, strong, good-looking, manly co-worker motivated you to do your best in the job to get his attention. And of course, you did do your best, to make him notice you, to not make it an unrequited love. But...

"Karasuma-senpai," You smiled at Karasuma, the person next to your desk, "Good work today,"

He nodded, "You as well. I will go home after I submit these documents. How about you, (L/N)-san?"

"I'll just finish my report," You replied.

"I see," He pushed his chair under his desk, "Well, if you'll excuse me."

You smiled as you watched his figure exit the room.

Of course, you knew very well that he didn't see you that way. You were just his co-worker who sat beside him. You knew that despite being dense, he had someone else in his heart.

And it hurt you. Very much. You never loved someone this much. You knew that you had no chance. But the fact that he sat beside you and he would talk to you made you very much happy.

Karasuma entered the room and fixed his things and grabbed his bag, "I'll be heading now, (L/N)-san. Be careful on your way home."

"You too, Karasuma-senpai," You said and turned back to your laptop.

It was 11 pm and you were writing a report due in 2 days. You had a chance to write it again. Yes, you still had a chance. But you only had one chance to tell him your feelings.

You closed your laptop and grabbed your bag. You rushed out of the room and ran straight down to the parking lot, with hope that he would still be there.

He was. He just got to his car and was now inserting the key to the door.

"K-Karasuma-senpai!!" You called out.

"(L/N)-san?" He said, surprised.

You stood infront of him, face flushed. From running and from what you were about to do.

Yes, this was your only chance. You knew you had no chance of being together with him but you just had to let him know how you felt all this time.

You mustered all your courage, and tiptoed. You kissed him. Not on the lips, just a few centimeters near the lips.

You pulled away, getting teary-eyed, "I'm sorry," You said and let out a soft chuckle, "I had to do that. At least once."

You stepped back, leaving the raven-haired shocked and flashed a smile at him. A smile that contained both happiness and sadness, "Congratulations on your engagement with Irina-senpai. I'm really happy for you."
