GRACE'S POV
Last night's phone call was only partially true... Now I don't wanna tell James what really happened because I know for a fact he would just come back here and totally flip. Well let me just telling you what really happened.
The first part I told him wasn't a lie. I did go out to my car to get my wallet that I had left in there. I pulled out my phone to call him and pulled up his contact name and number.
While I was walking to my car, there was a guy that was walking on the sidewalk and to be honest he was actually kinda good looking. But anyways, he looked like a normal young adult around my age, not harmful at all. Well boy was I wrong.
I didn't call James yet, I just pulled up his number. I opened my car door, grabbed my wallet from the center console and then closed my door.
When I turned around to start walking back to my dorm, that kid that was walking was right there in front of me. Weird right?
I let out a small shriek and jumped. "Uh... um do you need something?" I asked him startled. I looked around and I started to get worried. It's dark outside and we're the only ones out here.
"I don't need anything, but I do want something," he said with a sheepish grin. I gave him a confused look and he pushed me up against my car.
Now this guy was tall and muscular so I couldn't just push him off me. He had both of his hands up against the car and blocked both sides of me so I couldn't run.
"What do you want? I'll give you money! Do you want money?-" I stuttered, panicking.
He put his face real close to mine and whispered, "I just want a good time," his breath smelled like cigarettes. Disgusting.
"Stop! Get away from me!" I yelled at him.
I tried to push him off of me as he tried to kiss my neck. This guy is just revolting! He grabbed both of my arms and pushed them to my side and were squeezing them with enough strength that I couldn't move them. Well if I can't use my arms, I'll guess I just have to use my legs!
"Just get out of my way! What are you doing? Stop!" I yelled a lot louder. I took my knee and raised it right to the spot that hurts. He let out a loud moan and I knew I hurt him pretty good there.
During that whole thing I had no idea that I called James. Now it made sense that I called him since his number was up on my phone, but I didn't even realize it.
Right after I kneed the guy, I started to run away then my phone started to ring and the other kid took off running. When I answered my phone, I was out of breath.
Then I told James the fake story and yeah. If James knew, he'd probably come up here like every weekend and stay by me or try to hunt this guy down to the ends of the Earth, but I'm not gonna let that happen.
What he doesn't know won't hurt him.
***
Right now, I just finished up class and Bridget and I are walking back to our dorm.
"How's Kyle?" I asked her with a smile. They have been dating for almost three weeks now and going pretty strong from my view point.
"He's really good. He's so sweet." She said sounding genuine.
I gave her a halfhearted smile. I still think she should be with Luke. I hate him, but they were perfect for each other.
"We have a date on Friday," She sang happily.
I nodded with a grin and kept smiling. I'm happy for her. I'm happy that she's happy and that she's moved on. She's one of the strongest people I know. I love her.
