GRACE'S POV
After the dress fitting, I went to James's but had a quick checkup on Bridget. She's been doing better since Luke left and I'm proud that she isn't acting the way she did before.
At the bridal shop, I loved our dresses we picked out. They were beyond gorgeous and I am more than ecstatic for my best friend. She is going to have one the greatest weddings.
James and I still had to talk about why he's been acting so strange. When I get to his house I'm demanding to know what he's been failing to keep from me.
Right when he started to speak to me last time, there was knocking on the front door. Every freaking time, we are always interrupted. To make it worse, it was Luke at the damn door with his little "girlfriend" or whatever you want to call it. I mean her.
I arrived at James's and He greeted me at the door leaning in for a welcoming kiss.
Denied.
I held my hand up in front of his face. "No kissing until after you tell me what's been bothering you," I pursed my lips.
He sighed, raising one eyebrow. "Fine, but can we talk in my room please?" I nodded and he led me to his room and motioned to sit on the bed.
He started fidgeting with his hands and fingers. He's really nervous about telling me something. My eyebrows came close together. Should I be worried?
"What's the matter? You've been acting so weird lately," I took his hand in between the two of mine.
"I... Are-are you still bothered about what happened on the beach? Do you trust me? Do you think I would ever cheat or anything like that?" He asked all three questions with almost no hesitation.
I looked at him with confusion and my shoulders fell in disappointment. Does he think I don't trust him because of what happened while we were on vacation? I haven't acted depressed or angry around him. I don't know where this would be coming from.
"No, no of course not. I trust you with my life. Why are you asking me this? Do you not... trust me?" I asked quietly.
"I-Of course I trust you! I know you would never intentionally hurt me. You just scared me the other day," he said averting his eyes. My mind searched for what he was referring to.
"Are you talking about when I screamed or whatever you said happened?" I questioned.
"Well... yeah. Do you know what you said? Or remember anything from that night?"
What is he rambling about? Is it bad this is sort of scaring me?
"No... All I know is that I screamed because you told me I did. Can you explain to me what you're trying to say?" I crossed my arms over my chest and squirmed on the bed not being able to stay still.
"I... I just need to know how you feel about me first. Are you still mad about what happened on the beach and what happened with Elena? Be honest. I can take it," he said taking a deep breath.
I haven't really thought about that in a long time. I mean that's always in the back of my head, I guess. He had a girlfriend and tried telling me but I fell asleep while he was talking. I mean at least he tried telling me unlike Luke did, but then again he kissed me before he told me. He would never hurt me... I know that. So then why is he asking me this question? He should know the answer.
"I am over it. You didn't mean to hurt me. You should know I trust you," I tilted my head and my hand on his cheek. "Why are you asking me this?"
He put his hand over mine and rubbed his thumb over the back of my hand while avoiding my eyes.
"Last night... You screamed and were saying how you couldn't trust me. Then you kept mumbling, 'Elena.' I feel like I did damage to you that you don't even realize is there! I just need to know that you feel okay and won't do anything stupid over a little thing."
