GRACE'S POV

We both woke up to pounding on the door. I looked at the clock and it was 7 in the morning. Who could be at the door this early? I looked at James who was squinting from the light shining through the blinds. I sat up and gave him a peck on the cheek.

"I'll get it, go back to sleep," I whispered to him and pushed away his hair even though it wasn't in the way.

He pulled me back down to him and hugged me close to him. "Just leave it, who cares. Stay with me," he put on a pout face.

"I'll be right back. What if it's important? Why else would someone be here this early?" I reasoned with him.

"It's probably some solicitor or something," he gave me a kiss. "Just stay with me."

There came another pound from the door. I opened my mouth to say, "Coming!" but James covered it and yelled, "Go away!"

"James!" I scolded him.

I pushed his arms away from me and ran to the door. I looked down at myself before I opened the door realizing how ridiculous I looked. I was wearing James's shirt that was down half of my thigh and a pair of shorts that you couldn't even see because the shirt was too long. I pretty much looked pant-less. I opened the door to see a pretty girl around my age walking back to her car which was parked in the driveway.

"Excuse me? Do you need something?" I yelled to the girl.

"Oh! Hi," she said running back to the door. She looked down at my clothing and looked skeptical.

I pulled the shirt up enough to see the shorts. "I promise I'm wearing pants," I said in my defense.

She laughed. "You're perfectly fine. I'm so sorry to bother you so early but I guess I have the wrong house. My name is Jessica. I was looking for James Madison. I don't suppose you know who he is?" she asked looking behind me, into the house. That's kind of rude...

"Uh, yeah this is his house. One second, let me get him for you," I said walking back into the house but leaving the door slightly open so she didn't think I was leaving and not coming back.

I walked back to where we were sleeping and there he was checking his phone and laying down-shirtless if I might add.

"Who was at the door?" he asked.

"Some girl-"

"JAMES!" She yelled from behind me making me jump. Did she seriously follow me into the house? Dear God, please tell me this girl did not follow me inside. She practically jumped on him, making me raise my eyebrows. Okay, who the hell is this girl?

"Jess? What are you doing here?" he smiled in delight as he looked at her.

"Well I remembered this was your beach house from... the old times and I was in town and decided to stop by. Uh, what happened to your eye?" She smirked.

She was still on top of him, but now sitting on his lap. I clenched my fists together trying to hold back the anger. What does "Old Times" mean?

"Nothing, nothing. Don't worry about it. Well I'm glad you stopped by and said hello. It's been forever since I've seen you. Senior year, right?"

I cleared my throat to show I was still in the room which neither of them seemed to notice. James stood up quickly, fumbling a bit and I could feel the anger rising in my cheeks. Let's not forget that James is shirtless.

"Uh... Jessica, this is Grace," he said introducing me.

"Hi, I'm his girlfriend," I smiled, making sure she knew exactly who I am. Her smile completely faded when I said girlfriend which gave me an urge to laugh but I'm not heartless, so I held it in.
