GRACE'S POV

We arrived back at Nicolette's and her car was still missing, meaning she was still out with her other friends. I looked straight at James before we walked in the house. "You will stay in the living room until I am finished and you will not interrupt anything until I walk out of her room. Got it?"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," he said opening the door for me.

I walked in the house, set down my things and started walking towards Bridget's room but two hands on my waist stopped me. I threw my head back and looked at James. "I thought we did this at your house already."

"Well I never told you what you owed me." He kissed my forehead and spun me around to face him.

I was very short compared to him. The top of my head was at his shoulders so kissing him could be a struggle sometimes. "Tell me after I'm finished talking to Bridget, okay?"

He slipped his hands in my back pockets and bent his head towards me. "Make it quick," he whispered extremely seductively which gave me shivers down my spine. He kissed my nose and I turned around to walk towards Bridget's room. James pinched my butt and I gave him a death look but he just smiled like he didn't do anything.

I knocked on her door very lightly. "It's Grace," I spoke softly. She moaned and I took that as a "come in" and opened the door.

Her face was shoved into her pillow and her hair was a blonde mess. Tissues were piled up next her bed and filled her trash can. I plopped on her bed. "Hi."

"God, what the hell took you so long? I could've written a book," she complained.

"I was stuck in traffic," I lied. "James is here."

She looked at me. "Go." She pointed her head towards the door meaning to go be with James.

My eyebrows furrowed. "No. Forget about him. What happened?"

"I broke up with Kyle because I don't like him anymore, blah, blah, blah. I was going to tell Luke that I still liked him, but he told me he's moved on and that I should too. I don't know what to do," she whispered. She was using her nail to draw on her pillow.

"Why do you like him? Bridget, he hurt you. More than once. Don't you want someone to treat you better than that?" It might be coming off a little harsh, but I don't want to be someone that sugarcoats things to make them easier. Bridget is strong enough to hear the truth.

"I don't know. The feelings just don't go away. I hate him with every part of my body! I don't want to have these feelings but they just keep returning and there's nothing I can do about it. If James cheated on you, you wouldn't be able to get over it in a blink of an eye. You'd be broken, Grace. Why can't I just hate him? It's like a blurry fog blocking me from thinking about anything but him." She said as her eyes filled with tears. She quickly blinked them away and stood up. "But he's not mine anymore so why bother." She threw her hair in a ponytail and brushed herself off. She walked over to her mirror and cleaned her face up a bit and in seconds she was transformed.

"Want to go to a bar?" She asked me as she finished up by the mirror.

"Did you forget your pregnant?" I asked, shocked.

"I'm not going to drink! God, Momma G, calm down. Water will be my best friend tonight. I just want to get away for a little bit."

"Alright, fine. We'll go at 8, okay?" I sighed. She does need to get her mind off of things. She walked over to me and hugged me.

"Thank you," she murmured into my shoulder. She let go of me and then pushed me out her door. "Have fun!" She winked and slammed the door in my face and I quickly heard the lock click into place.
