Flashback: Grace's POV
"Zach go get a bottle," Bridget said to him as he walked into the kitchen.
We did this everyday Friday night; hung out together or went partying. I looked around at my circle of friends. Nicolette and James were sitting on the couch together. James had his arm around Nicolette and whispered something in her ear that made her giggle. She took his face in her hands and looked into his eyes, smiling at her. He placed a gentle kiss on her lips and anyone could see just how in love they were.
I was sitting on the couch waiting for Zach to come back with the bottle. At the time we had been dating for 3 years. From sophomore to senior. We were one of the strongest and longest couples.
Then there was Bridget who was cuddled up next to Luke. They were dating at the time and they were completely making out in full view; tongue and all, not having a care in the world.
Zach finally came out of the kitchen with an empty vodka bottle in his hand. "Found one." He sat next to me on the couch and pecked my cheek.
"Everybody come here and get in a circle. We're gonna play a game," Bridget smirked.
She gave the bottle back to Zach to spin first. Of course it landed on her.
"Truth or dare?" Zach asked her.
"Dare," Bridget said with confidence.
"I dare you to snog Luke," Zach chuckled.
"We'll that's easy," she smirked.
BRIDGET'S POV
I bought everything I needed for the week and was on my way home. I can't believe Luke is here. He looks so good it hurts.
I hate it.
I'm not falling for him again. What a mistake that was. I will never go back to that tall, muscular, curly brown haired boy. He broke me and I cannot forget that.
I pulled into the driveway to see James and Zach sitting on their porch. I haven't seen them since senior year. I ran out of my car to give them hugs. James looked amazing. Wow, did he get better. Zach still looks good, he hasn't changed much. Same face and hairstyle, but something seems a little off. I can't quite put my finger on it...
I still don't get how Nicolette broke up with James. I mean look at him! Don't get me wrong- Jason is totally awesome. He's a complete gentleman and he's pretty good looking too. But James... Wow is all I have to say.
Zach and Grace dated for three years. Then out of the blue, Zach ended things with no explanation, not even to his bestfriends. To this day, no one knows why. Grace was surprised but she's strong and got on her feet again. She only dated one guy after Zach; Jake Parker. She learned that he was a complete jerk and didn't date anyone after that. It's been almost 4 years since and I was determined to change that.
Grace was happy while she was single. She never complained about what she had or wanted and the most she would do about guys was point out the hot ones every once in a while.
Grace is beautiful. And I'm not just saying that because I'm her best friend. She is truly gorgeous. She has light brown hair that's down to the middle of her back and she has these amazing blue eyes. She has no idea how she got them either. Both of her parents have brown eyes and all of her siblings do too. She's the only blue eyed one in her family.
This is what gets me confused; how does no guy want her? Not only the looks but her personality. Grace is so down to earth and kind. She treats everyone with respect but at the same time can kick some ass when she needs to. She's the perfect package! I guess no one has signed to claim it yet.
"Don't say anything. Just come over for dinner tonight. All three of you. 6:30." I told them excitedly.
They both looked at each other and shrugged. "Sure, why not?"
"Yay!" I gave them both hugs again and giddied on back to the house. Bringing the groceries in the house, I screamed , "Luke, James, and Zach are all coming over for dinner to tonight!"
"Why?" Grace yelled in horror.
"Because," I started. "I obviously invited them... How else?" I'm such a smartass... Grace just rolled her eyes and walked away.
"I don't have to worry about anything," Nicolette said. "I have Jason with me," she smiled as she kissed his cheek. He took her hand and they both walked out of the French back doors toward the beach.
GRACE'S POV
I looked out the kitchen window as they walked together. Jason scooped her up in his arms and sprinted toward the water. She was fussing around in his arms trying to break free but couldn't.
She looked happy. He threw her into the ocean and laughed. When her head popped back up she threw a wad of sand at his face. He ran into the water after her and wrapped his arms around her waist. She was laughing and they both sealed their love with a kiss.
Man, I really wish I could have a relationship like that. No one ever took the time with me. I guess I wasn't worth it. I hated that I was 21 and single. The single life can get pretty boring. It can make a girl feel unwanted.
Bridget had started to cook dinner and I went upstairs to find the perfect outfit. If 3 good looking guys were coming over, shouldn't I look good too? I think yes.
I ran upstairs and ripped through my closet and all of my drawers. I need to look stunning yet casual. After searching and searching, I finally found a pair of white jean shorts and tight pink tank top, both from Forever 21. Simple yet sexy. Then I slowly started the process of straightening my thick, thick hair.
*2 Hours Later*
I finally finished my hair when I heard Bridget yell, "Someone please set the table!"
I went downstairs and set the table only to smell delicious food. I set everything up nice and neat. I looked at the clock. 6:02. They would be here in less than a half hour. I have no idea where Nic is. Probably still outside.
It got me thinking about the boys. Zach never told me why he broke up with me. Maybe because I wasn't "the one" for him. Maybe he thought I was moving too fast or maybe I was a bitch to him and didn't even know it. It's over and done with now.
Now that I'm thinking about it... Look at James. I've never thought of him as more of a friend because that's all he was; a friend. That was Zach's best friend and James wouldn't do that to him anyway. Plus Nicolette and him were together so it's not like I had a chance.
Luke... I could never date him because of him and Bridget. That would be out of line. He never interested me anyway. Luke was a dumbass in simple terms. He was a douchebag and I hope he and Bridget never rekindle their fire. I've never seen her so hurt in my life and I'll kill him if he ever does it again.
I heard the doorbell ring and ran to open the door. I took a deep breath and smoothed my shirt before I opened it to find three mature young men in front of me. I looked up and smiled at them.
"Are they here yet-" Bridget said coming down the stairs while she put an earring in her left ear. She looked stunning. She was wearing a cute light blue strapless dress and sandals. Her hair was down in her perfect natural waves. She stopped herself as she saw them and a huge grin spread across her face. She came down the stairs at perfect timing. She was flawless but dangerous as hell. A tornado.
