GRACE'S POV
We went back to James' after leaving the hospital and I was quiet the entire ride. I was worried. I didn't even get to see her...
I left her there with her ex who she hates and cheated on her. I'm a terrible best friend.
"We need to go back to the hospital!" I almost yelled.
"Calm down, did you forget something?" James asked, taking my hand.
"Yeah, I left Bridget alone with someone who she hates profoundly! She's gonna wake up and freak out, James. We have to go back!" I said frantically and loud.
I was tired and emotionally drained at this point and I couldn't take it. I knew Bridget was hurt. It's my fault.
"We are not going back, Grace. I'm sorry, but we both know that they need to work things out," he said putting his hand on my knee.
I agreed but I didn't want them to. I needed that clarity. I need to know that she was okay. I sighed and rested my head on the window for the rest of the car ride.
When we pulled back into his house, he opened my door and hugged me, resting his chin on the top of my head. We just stood there for a few minutes wrapped in each other's arms before he kissed my forehead and we went inside.
We walked into his bedroom and I rummaged through his drawer to find some clothes to wear to bed.
As I was searching, James came up behind me, moving my hair away from my neck and kissed right below my ear. I bit my lip as I wanted to kiss him fiercely but refrained. He doesn't think I'm ready?... That's about to change.
He continued to kiss my neck and his hands slipped to the sides of my waist but I pretended like he wasn't even there.
I took off my shirt as I had the one I was about to change into in my hand. I slipped it over my head, but James caught the end of it and slipped it right back off.
I turned around to face him and rose my eyebrows but he just lifted me up and rested me on the dresser. In about two seconds, his hand was already knotted into my hair, pulling me closer to him with his mouth ferociously moving in sync with mine.
I lightly bit his lip and I wrapped my legs around his torso. Slowly, I slipped my hands up his shirt and started to take it off, but made sure to feel his rock hard stomach, of course.
His lips were soft and warm and I felt my heart beating against my chest. I know what's about to happen.
He carried me over to his bed and he finished pulling his shirt over his head. My hands were tugging onto the hair on his neck and I never knew someone could make me so calm and nervous at the same time.
He looked me in the eye when he pulled back and I thought it would be the whole, "you're not ready" thing again.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked, pushing the hair out of my face and behind my ear. "I want you to be comfortable and not pressured," he spoke. He made me smile. The way he makes everything easier by just speaking a few words. The love I have for him is unconditional.
I rested my hand on his cheek. "I love you and I trust you. I want to do this," I smiled at him. I pulled him down to start kissing him again but he pulled back with a huge grin.
"Wait!" He got up off the bed and looked through his closet. He held something behind his back and sat next to me on the bed. I sat up and smiled, crossing my legs.
"You know I love you, but I want you to have something that you look at and immediately think of me," he shrugged and put a small black box in front of me. "I was gonna wait for until you left, but this just seems like the right time."
