Thinking

Sometimes, I try to remember how it was before. Long late nights watching Netflix. Sometimes not even caring about life. How uncomplicated my life was. I was in the shadows, but this destruction made me climb from the shadows, to be known. People say that Jackson witnessed everything that day. But he never told me, I've heard it from other people who Jackson talks to.

I couldn't stop thinking about life, " What are you thinking about?" Ben must have noticed. " Life, and how much I miss it, my music and Netflix, the two things that really made me happy. But now I have you, which is even better." I grinned.

Jackson decided to walk in when we left and headed to Beth's room, and to his surprise she was filling out papers to be released. " What are you doing?" Jackson walked in. Beth looked at him and turned around. " Hey, c'mon it wasn't my fault!" His arms were crossed. Beth turned around. " How is it not your fault? I can't get pregnant on my own!" She was angry. " You are the one that started it! You seduced me!" Jackson was almost in tears. Beth took a breath. " look, i'm sorry I just need some time. I'll come to your place later when i'm all settled back into Paige's place. ok?" She got up and started to pack her things. " Why don't you stay with me? I'm sure that my father wouldn't mind?" His face lit up. " Oh and how are you going to tell your father? Hmm? That we had sex on your couch while he was outside working? Look, I need some Beth time." She walked over to Jackson and kissed him. " I love you." She put her head on his, which led to a hug. She walked into the bathroom and shut the door. Jackson left not so sad about things. He turned in the filled out papers to the front desk on the way out. " How am I going to tell my father?"

I decided to just go home and relax to give Benjamin some time alone, we were spending a lot of time together. " Hey mom, i'm home." I sat on the couch. " Okay honey." After a few seconds of sitting on the couch someone knocked on the door. "Mom, can you get that i'm tired." She was in the other room. " Honey, i'm busy just get up and get it." UGH. I fixed myself to make sure my butt was covered and no straps were showing, then opened the door. It was Jackson. " Look, Jackson. I'm so tired. I can't deal with this right now. " I was about to shut the door and he grabbed it. " I need your help, please." I opened it. " What now?" My hair was moving in the wind. " How am I supposed to tell my father, that I got Beth pregnant?" He was looking me straight in the eyes, and deep down I could see that he needed my help. " Come in, i'll have my mom warm us up some tea or something." I sounded smart or somthing. We walked in and I sat on the couch. Jackson sat on the other side leaving a cushion between us. " Jackson, you are just going to have to tell him the truth. That you have hormones and that you had a very beautiful lady sitting on your couch and a natural thing happened. Something that you weren't prepared for. And the girl got pregnant." He was just staring at me. " Yeah that's a start. I just don't know how this happened." I looked at him for a second. " Yes, yes you do." He face palmed. " Yes I know THAT. Ugh. Just how did she get pregnant for one time?" I thought about a child development class I took last year in eight grade. " Well, only like 38% get pregnant after one month, not one try. I don't even know how it was possible, but it was." I thought for a second. " Unless, you guys had intercourse right after her cycle. But that still could take months. So technically you got lucky, and unlucky. Some people try for months and get nothing." I wasn't helping. " Look, i'm really tired. Can we talk about this later? I don't care if you stay I need to lay down." I took up half of the other cushion,  and fell asleep instantly. Jackson walked over to a stack of blankets and placed one over my body.

" Hey Paige, guess what?" Beth and I were walking to class together. " What?" I smiled. " I got a 100% on my Algebra test today!" We hugged and started jumping up and down. " That's great!" I was squealing. Beth and I finished walking to class together. We sat down and the bell rang.

I instantly woke up. I rubbed my eyes to see that Jackson was still sitting there. " What are you still doing here?" He sat up from slouching. " You had a nice dream didn't you?" I removed the blanket and sat up. " How could you tell?" I tried to fix the ratted mess my hair was in. " Because you were smiling the whole time...uh...not that I was watching. I just notice...." He rubbed his hair and his face turned red.  I interrupted. " Jackson, It's fine. Yeah, I had a nice dream." I stretched out my arms. " It was before, wasn't it." He was just staring off into the distance. " Yeah, it was. It was nice. And happy. I wasn't a killer." Jackson finally looked at me. " Was it about Beth?" His hands were together and he slouched over the couch. " Yeah it was, we were happy, we walked to class together. And she had gotten a good grade, it was more of a memory. Not a dream." I looked at him. " How long was I asleep?" He looked at his watch. " About thirty minuets." He looked back up. " And what did you do the whole time?" He fixed his pant leg of his pants. " I sat here, it was peaceful. Just thinking about things. I hope you didn't mind." I stood up. " No, it's fine." He stood up. " I think I should be going now." Jackson started walking to the door. " Jackson, wait." He turned around. " Yes?" He looked tired and depressed. " Are you sure you don't want your jacket back?" I grabbed it. " No, keep it, as a sign of our friendship. He opened the door and left. I smiled and sat back down on the couch and held the jacket. I began to cry.
