Walking out of the house was probably the worst idea over. Apparently word had spread about what had happened to me, and cameras were everywhere. " PAIGE PAIGE! OVER HERE. CAN WE ASK SOME QUESTIONS?" People were all over around my front lawn. Then my parents came out and took me back into the house. " Paige, I thought you were in your room?" She had a peculiar way she was talking. " Mom, I walked out my window to see what was going on." That's all I simply said. " So you walked out of your room, with shoes and a back pack?" My dad was sneaky. Dang it. " Yeah, because I didn't take anything off from school." I said with a sneer. " Okay." Both my parents said at the same time, looking at each other. I know I wasn't fooling them today. I was all over the radio. I got multiple text from various people.
* RING RING*
" Hey, Beth." I said feeling consumed by everything that has happened.
" Hey Paige, can I come over? I'm bored and really worried about you." Her voice was bothered.
Mom can Beth come over... " Beth when are you coming over?" I asked suddenly. " How about today, like in a few minutes?" She was organized. " Yeah Paige, that's fine." My mom sounded like she didn't care.
" I'll be over in a few minuets!." "o...." She hung up.
Usually she comes in through the window but she took forever and she usually only takes a few minutes or so. I looked out the window to see her in the front lawn talking to the people. " My name is Beth ace, and i'm 17 in high school. My best friend is Paige, and things have happened to her, that's all i'm saying. She did a hair flip and turned around and walked up to my window. She high fived me and sat down.
We sat in silence for a really long time, just thinking about life. Eventually I started to draw, even though i'm not that good. " Paige, I love you, but you fail at drawing." She said sarcastically. " Yeah, I know. But it calms me down." I was very out of it at that time. Most of the day was a blur, everything was messed up. My brain felt like it wasn't even there. But I knew it was, I felt dead inside, but I wasn't. People didn't show up to school and I still didn't know what was going on. My parents took my tv, phone, and radio. So I couldn't know what was going on. After a few days Beth left.
My head was on straight, and I felt alive again. I did girly stuff with Beth and we painted our nails together. Mostly we just listened to music on her computer and watched Netflix. Although we knew something was wrong, we never actually cared.
My dad started to build a fence with wood on the outside and metal on the inside. After a few weeks he built two watch towers. Our land was all covered. He went on runs everyday. From my house you could see riots and fires everywhere. But my parents refused to tell me whats going on. They were trying to hide me from the truth of whats going on. Beth came over every once and a while. We wrote letters to each other when the mail came around. I felt like i was totally blind in my own body, not knowing whats going on. And captured in a cage, like an animal.
All humanity lost.
