What Happened?

Ms. Starr, Paige Ace is ready to see you. I must have slept for a while. I walked in and the first thing I saw was Jackson, I couldn't even handle to look at him. The clock on the wall said 3' o clock. Jackson gave me a sorry look. But I stood strong and walked past him to the bed Beth was laying on. " What happened doctor Pia?" I was worried. " Well, it seems the fall to her head was very hard. We are doing test to see if she has any infections. But we think it might have paralyzed her from the waist down as she hit a very important nerve in her brain. We are not sure of this yet, but the tests should be back soon." I started to tear up. " Ok, thanks doc." She left the room. I was alone with Jackson, he came over and put his hand on my shoulder. I shoved it off and walked out of the room. I took a long walk and came back about an hour later. It's now 4'o clock. I walked to the room and doctor Pia came back into the room. " Right now Beth is fighting a major infection to her brain. She did not get paralyzed from the fall. But she could possibly die from the fall. Tests came back that she had Encephalitis, which directly infects the brain, and damages it. We are not even sure that she will live through this. But most children survive." Jackson and I started to cry together. He stayed were he was and I still didn't look at him. After doctor Pia left I decided to go home, I would like to stay with her but I can't even bare. I started to walk home and I saw Ben. He started to walk towards me and saw that I was crying again. " Why are you crying?" He hugged me. " uhm, my friend is in the hospital with Encephalitis. And they don't think she is going to live at all." I tried to hold back tears.
