Chapter 7

Sophie's P.O.V

"Freak."

"Weirdo."

"Insane."

"Pathetic."

I heard those words being chanted over and over. I ran towards the crowd and pushed passed people until I was in the middle of it all. Mackenzie was lying on the floor while people were kicking and punching her. Anger invaded my body as I spoke up

"Hey!" I yelled. "Leave my little sister alone." I yelled at them

"That freak is your sister?" Someone asked me. I turned to glare at them.

"Yes. Now leave her alone before I make you." I threatened them.

Jessica pushed through the crowd. "Why would you defend and stick up for that freak?" Jessica asked me. I turned to face her

"Because she's my sister and when I didn't have anyone she was there for me. So leave her alone because she hasn't done anything to you." I replied to her before I knelt down and helped Mac off the ground. Mackenzie brushed herself down a second later.

"She's a weirdo." Jessica muttered a second later. I turned around.

"What did you say about my sister?" I asked her through gritted teeth.

"I said she's a weirdo and you're obviously one to." Jessica smirked until I leaped on top of her and pushed her to the ground. I pulled onto her hair a few seconds later. Jessica screamed and before I knew it we were both fighting each other

Mac tried to pull me off of her. "Sophie stop you'll get into trouble!" She told me. I ignored her and punched Jessica on the cheek.

"Stay out of this freak!" Jessica yelled as we both got to our feet.

"My sister is not a freak!" I yelled back at her as I pushed her

Mac pulled me back. "Please Sophie." She begged me just as a teacher came running towards us. The crowd started to disappear and remove themselves from the hall. Miss Johnson looked at me.

"Sophie, Mackenzie and Jessica follow me." She told us sternly

We were all silent as Miss Johnson led the way to the principles office. Miss Johnson knocked on the door and waited for the principle to answer. "Come in." A deep voice called out a second later.

Miss Johnson opened the door and stepped aside so we could all go in. The principle looked at me and Jessica before he looked at Mackenzie. "Miss Johnson can you please go and get an ice pack for Mackenzie's face?" He asked. She nodded before she went out of the room.

Mackenzie's P.O.V

I sat down on a chair as the principle turned to Sophie and Jessica. "Now girls can you please tell me why you are in my office?" The principle asked them as Miss Johnson came into the room. She passed me an ice pack before she sat beside me

"Sophie was encouraging people to bully Mac and I stepped in to stop it." Jessica lied. Sophie looked at Jessica before she started shaking her head.

"That's not true. She was the one bullying Mac." Sophie replied

"Stop lying Sophie. You know that will get you into even more trouble!" Jessica scolded.

"Then why don't you stop lying. I'm not lying!" Sophie shouted

"Girls that's enough!" Miss Johnson told them firmly. The principle turned to me.

"What happened Mackenzie?" He asked me. I looked at Sophie and Jessica for a minute before I looked back at him. I took a deep breath.

"Jessica's been bullying me since two years ago. At the start of lunch, I was coming out of the classroom and Jessica and some of her friends were waiting for me. As soon as no one else was watching they pushed me down on the ground and started hurting me and calling me names." I explained to him a second later.

"And how did Sophie get involved?" The principle asked me as I finished.

"She must have come over at some point because she started yelling at everyone to leave me alone. She helped me up and then Jessica called me a freak and that's when they started to fight." I continued to explain to him. He smiled at me before he turned to face Jessica. Jessica looked down at the ground a second later.

"I don't like people lying to me Jessica. This school does not tolerate bullying of any kind. I will be calling both of you parents into the school and we will discuss your punishment Jessica. This isn't the first time someone has come to me and complained about your disgusting words towards another student. We don't call people freaks. Do you understand me Jessica?" The principle asked her. Jessica nodded her head at him.

"Right. I'll call your parents now." He continued as his hand reached towards the phone. Sophie looked at me a second later

(Half an hour later)

Demi and Alex came into the room with Jessica's mother. They all sat down and waited for the principle to start talking to them. "Can we please make this quick? I have a hair appointment in half an hour that I can't cancel." Jessica's mother said.

"I think discussing your child's behaviour is a lot more important then a hair appointment Miss Mathews." The principle replied.

"Now Jessica and Sophie were caught fighting earlier in the hallway because of some disgusting names Jessica has been calling Mackenzie." My eyes fell to the ground as Demi and Alex looked at me.

"That's it? You called me in here because of some name calling that's been going on? I'm supposed to be getting my nails done right now! I have a date tonight!" Jessica's mother complained

The principle ignored her. "Because this isn't the first time Jessica has been caught bullying I'm excluding her for the rest of the week. We do not tolerate bullying or name calling. Now as for Sophie she's excluded for a day. Although she was trying to stick up for her sister, we don't tolerate violence in this school either. Thank you for your time. You may take your children and leave now." The principle dismissed us. Alex and Demi got up.

As soon as we were out of ear shot Alex turned around and looked at me and Sophie. "Right, who's for ice cream?" He asked. Both of our eyes lit up as Demi turned and looked at Alex

"Alex Sophie was caught fighting today and you want to reward her with ice cream?" Mum asked in disbelief.

"Yeah you're right..." Alex trailed off as he looked at Sophie

"Next time make sure you don't get caught!" He finished as mum glared at him
