Opinion Overload

Chapter 6

Mackenzie's P.O.V

"I-I'm scared." I stuttered as I looked out at the crowd from the side of the stage. Demi was stood beside me. I turned around to face her. "Maybe I shouldn't do this Mum. It's too scary and everyone will be staring at me." I whispered as I looked down at the floor. My mum pulled me into a hug minutes later.

"Hey it will be okay. Everyone get's nervous sometimes. I know I do when I have to preform on stage because I want to give my fans the best performance I can give them. Just take some deep breaths Mac. You'll be fine." Mum tried to reassure me as she kissed me on the cheek. I took some deep breaths like she said

"That's it baby girl. Take some deep breaths. Me, your dad and Sophie are going to be right out front okay?" I nodded my head

Mum smiled at me before she kissed me on the forehead. She got up and walked away from me. A second later Jessica came towards me. "You're going to suck you know that?" She told me as she reached me. "I'm going to win this thing just you wait and see." Jessica told me as she smirked at me. I looked down at the ground.

"It's not about winning Jessica. Besides, how are you going to win when you aren't even in the show?" Sophia asked as she came towards us. She put her hands on her hips as she looked at Jessica. Jessica rolled her eyes at Sophie a few seconds later

"Because Mackenzie will freak out like she's done for every single rehearsal and then I'll go on stage and start singing and then I'll win." Jessica replied. Sophie raised her eyebrows at her. Jessica walked away from us a few seconds later. Sophie looked at me.

"We're going to do this together okay Mackenzie?" Sophie asked me.

"W-What do you mean?" I stuttered as I looked at her confused

"I'm going on stage with you." She explained to me a second later.

Miss Hill went on stage as Yvonne finished her performance. I took a deep breath as Sophie picked up the guitar. "We can do this Mac." Sophie told me.

She announced me and Sophie and we went on stage together.

"Are you ready Mac?" Sophie asked me. I shook my head at her.

"It's too scary." I whispered to her.

"Come on Mac you can do this." Sophie told me.

"I-I can't." I stuttered before I turned to run off the stage. I looked at Jessica who was smirking at me as she came towards me.

"Well, well, well what do we have here? Is the freak going to bail out again?" Jessica asked. Sophie turned to glare at Jessica

"I've told you Jessica. My sister is not a freak. Now stop calling her names." Sophie replied to her. Jessica looked at her a little shocked.

Jessica's shook rubbed off a second later. She pulled me towards her. "I knew you couldn't do it. You're to much of a wuss to do anything you little freak." She whispered in my ears

I pulled away from her a second later. Something clicked inside me. I smirked at her. "Well that's where you are dead wrong Jessica." I told her before I ran towards one of the band members. I whispered in his ear the song I wanted them to play

Jessica turned around to walk off the stage. "No. Jessica wait I have a song just for you." She turned around and looked at me confused for a second before she responded to what I'd just said.

"Y-you do?" She stuttered as she looked at me confused. I nodded my head.

"Yep and it's called Opinion Overload. I hope you hate it." I replied to her.

The band started to play as soon as I said that Jessica's confused expression remained on her face until I started singing

So you think you got me figured out
Why don't you go ahead and tell me what I'm all about
You know I'm dying to hear it
I'm getting sick of all the sticks and stones you throw
Now it feels like it's an opinion overload
I can take it but but I'd rather leave it
