Chapter 11

Mackenzie's P.O.V

It's our little secret. It's our little secret. It's our little secret. Those words echoed inside my head every single time I tried to tell someone about what was going on. I knew my mum and dad didn't believe my excuse to why I was having so many nightmares. My mum even made my dad lock up all his horror movies so I could get to them. My mum even thought my dad was secretly letting me watch them while her and Sophie weren't around. But the reason for my nightmares were nothing to do with some imaginary monster or person in a movie. No, this person was very much real, I saw him every single day at school. I was left alone with him every single day at school and this person abused me everyday

My dad told me that having a tutor was a good thing. He said it would help me with my maths and English but so far I haven't learnt anything to do with maths and English. I've just learnt how to shut my mouth and keep quiet about things even more than I did when I was living with my mum.

I could see him casually talking to one of the lunch time people in the playground as if everything was completely fine and he didn't touch me inappropriately five minutes before. He was laughing and joking around with the other teachers acting like a normal person, acting like he wasn't hurting anyone, acting like he was just an average teacher in the school playground but he wasn't. But I was too scared to say anything to anyone.

I felt someone touching me, snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked up at saw Jessica smirking at me. "Where's Sophie today?" She asked me.

"Go away Jessica I'm not in the mood." I told her before I stood up a second later. I screwed my eyes shut as the pain shot through my body like it had been hit with a hammer a thousand times. Jessica ignored me and followed me from behind.

"Why? Is Sophie at home sick from the Mackenzie disease?" She asked as a group of her friends laughed at her joke. I turned around and glared at her.

"I told you to leave me alone." I yelled at her. Jessica stumbled back in shock for a second before she composed herself and smirked at me even more

"Or what?" She challenged me.

I don't exactly remember doing it, all I remember is Jessica standing one minute and then a minute later on the floor with me on top of her. I saw some teachers running towards me in the corner of my eye, my tutor being one of them. They pulled me off of Jessica as soon as the reached us.

Half an hour later

"Now I'm shocked at Mackenzie's behaviour and I honestly think she might have been provoked, despite what Jessica and her friends say because Mackenzie wouldn't randomly beat someone up for no reason and Jessica has lied to me before. But rules are rules and I can't go bending the rules for one student. So Mackenzie is excluded for the rest of the week." The principle told my mum and dad. My mother glared at me.

"We understand and don't worry we will be talking to Mackenzie about this at home." I looked away from her and started fiddling with my hands

As soon as the principle dismissed us my dad went to have a word with my tutor while I stayed with my mum. "I'm very disappointed in you Mackenzie. I thought you knew better then to physically attack someone in the playground." Mum scolded. I didn't say anything, I just looked down at the ground.

"You should know that violence is not the answer. If someone is bothering you, you go and tell a teacher, you don't push them onto the floor and started hitting them." My mum continued. I looked at her a second later.

"Yes mum." I replied as dad came out into the waiting area with my tutor.

"Mackenzie, your mum and I have been talking and your tutor has agreed to start tutoring you at home starting from tomorrow." My dad told me

My eyes fell onto my tutor who was standing behind my dad. He smirked at me as soon as he realised I was looking at him. I started to feel sick as I looked at my dad. My tutor cleared his throat a second later. "Now before you go I would like you to come with me to get your folder so I can set you some work." He told me.

"Y-yes sir." I stuttered as I followed him towards the classroom while my mum and dad stayed in the waiting area. As soon as we were out of ear shot my tutor turned around and smirked at me before he pushed me against the wall.

"Nice try brat but not good enough. Get ready to have some...fun tomorrow. Well it will be fun for me anyway."
