Chapter 18

Mackenzie's P.O.V

I staggered back as soon as I had turned around and realised who was behind me

My mother smirked before she said anything. "Long time no see, brat." My mum said to me two seconds later

I looked at her confused for a second. "W-What are you doing here?" I asked while I started to back away from her.

"I could ask you the same thing Mackenzie." My mum answered back while she moved towards me. I backed away from her a little more as she became too close for my liking.

"Please leave me alone." I begged her as I continued to move away from her. My mum started to laugh at me

"Now where's the fun in that Mackenzie?" My mum asked me. I didn't answer her.

"Come on, you know me better than anyone. Why would I leave you alone without laying a finger on you?" My mum questioned me.

"Because being in prison for almost three years has changed you?" I suggested hopefully even though I knew that could not happen

She laughed at me even more. "Are you really that stupid?" She asked me a second later. I shook my head.

"N-no." I stuttered back as my back pressed against one of the cliff.

"It's just like old times isn't it Mackenzie?" My mum asked as she smirked at me a second later.

I didn't say anything as my mum grabbed me and pushed me onto one of the rocks. She kicked me so I fell of it and smacked my head against one of the other rocks.

"Just like the times before you became such a snitch Mac." She continued before she kicked me again making my head hit the rock once again.

"Just like the times before your dumbass father took you away from me and I ended up in jail." My mum added as she pulled me up before she slammed my head against the rock one more time.

"P-Please stop." I begged her as I winced at the pain in my head. She laughed at me.

"How about no." She said before she repeated her actions.

"Why should I when you were the one who ruined my life?" She screamed at me as she knelt down beside me

"When you were the one who landed me in that hell hole for nearly three fucking years." My mum continued as she yanked me up and dragged me towards the steps to one of the cliffs

I didn't have any energy in me to fight against my mum so I let her drag me up the steps. We finally reached the top of the cliff ten long minutes later. My mum let go of me and I fell on the floor.

"You're a worthless piece of shit Mackenzie." My mother screamed at me before she stamped on my face, which caused my nose to start bleeding.

"I should have killed you when I had the chance." She continued before she smashed my head against the rocky floor of the cliff a second later.

"Mackenzie." I heard a voice suddenly calling out for me. My mum's head snapped up as soon as she heard it.

"Who's that?" She asked me

I didn't answer her because I didn't want to put Sophie in any danger.

"Mackenzie, please if you are here say something." I heard Sophie call out to me

"I said who is that you little brat." My mum screamed at me. She pulled my up by my shirt before she smashed my head against the ground again. I screamed out in pain.

"MACKENZIE?" Sophie yelled out. Her voice became clearer and a lot louder. So I assumed she was coming towards me.

"MACKENZIE!" Sophie yelled out again as soon as she reached the top. She ran towards me but my mother pushed her so she fell on the floor.

"Leave my sister alone." I shouted as I got up, ignoring the immense pain that was burning through me. I went towards her before I pushed her away from Sophie. I looked at her

"I'm the one you hate, not Sophie. I'm the one who ruined yours and dad's life not Sophie. Leave her alone please." I begged her a second later.

My mum smirked at me for a second before dad's voice filled the air. "Sophie? Mackenzie?" He called out a second.

"They're up here Alex." My mum replied. I heard my dad's footsteps speeding up a second later. He reached the top of the cliff as my mum grabbed me.

"Let her go Lauren." My dad said to her.

"How about no? What kind of father would leave his eight year old out on the streets at this time of night Alex?" Mum asked me. Dad ignored her and came running towards me. But before he could grab me Lauren stood up and hung me over the edge of the cliff.

I looked at my dad afraid a second later. "Lauren, do not do anything that you are going to regret." Dad warned her.

"Who says I'm going to regret anything?" My mom asked.

"Lauren, please she can't swim." Dad begged my mom

"Then this is even more perfect then I originally thought." My mom smirked at my dad.

"Don't test me Lauren." He warned.

"What's that supposed to mean?" My mum asked him a second later. She started to loosen her grip on me a second later.

"Daddy help me." I yelled out as my heart thudded against my chest. My dad ran towards me a second later but my mum let go of me. I screamed as I fell towards the water.
