Beep! Beep! Beep!

I stretch my hand out to shut off the annoying alarm informing me it was time to get up. I rub my eyes before reading the red numbers on the alarm clock which marked five thirty. I still had an hour to get ready but an hour flies by quick so I stand up from my bed and head towards the bathroom. The new apartment I got was way cheaper than my last one and it was okay looking. It was good enough for me. I place my uniform on the hook that rested on the door before turning on the water. After adjusting it to my liking, I strip out of my pajamas and enter the steamy shower. The warm water cascades over my tense body and I let it relax my muscles. I grab some soap and wash my body before rinsing the soap out and letting it go down the drain. I then grab some of my Suave shampoo and scrub my dark brown locks before rinsing the soap out of it.

When I am done I turn the shower off before stepping out and wrapping a white cotton towel around my body and another around my hair. I quickly dry my body, and put some lotion on before putting on my white lace bra and matching panties. Afterwords I grab my blue and white waitress uniform before buttoning it up. I put on some socks and my white converse wedges that made me look taller than my normal 5,7 height. I grab the white apron and tie it around my waist before taking the white towel off my hair and quickly tying it into a ponytail. I honestly didn't have anymore time to do something different. I grab my purse and walk out of my apartment building to meet with the Miami sun. Although it was January the temperatures reached 60 degrees so I just had on a grey sweater. I walk to the bus station and wait for my six fifteen bus.

I arrive at Douglas Diner just in time. I punch in and walk behind the counter where two other waitresses were serving the customers. A guy walks into the diner and heads towards me. The bell rings signaling someone had arrived and my eyes go to the door. In came a tall tan man with dirty blonde locks and vibrant green eyes.

"Good morning what can I get you?" I ask as I take out my notepad and pen.

"Hey beautiful can I get a regular latte and chocolate donut." He states and I write his order down.

I walk over to the coffee machine and start making him his latte before walking back to the counter and handing him his donut. When the latte is finished I pour it into a coffee cup and place the lid on it before handing it to the guy.

"Thanks love." He replies with a wink causing me to roll my eyes.

Before he left the stranger handed me the money for the stuff he ordered as well as a card with his number. I rolled my eyes at the action and threw the card away once he was gone. One of my best friends walked through the doors causing a smile to spread across my face. She rounded the counter and gave me a hug which I returned.

"Hey Marshall." I state as we pull away from the warm hug.

"Hey Jane has it been busy?" She asked and I shake my head in response.

"Not really I just started a few minutes ago and it's pretty relaxed." I reply.

Marshall's family was from Ghana but she was born here. In these last two months we have had the time to know each other and she has taken a big part in my life. Marshall had beautiful brown hair, as well as chocolate brown eyes. Aside from Marshall my other best friend was Sarah. I knew Sarah a little longer than Marshall but I loved them both the same. Sarah had hazel green eyes and short brown almost black hair with light brown tips.
