"Well I guess that it wasn't Damon we were supposed to be worried about." I state as we walk into the mansion.

Adrian runs a hand over his face and replies, "You should go rest. If you need anything I'll be in my study."

I nod and make my way towards my room. With a tired sigh I take off the beautiful dress off and lay it on one of the mini couches. Before I can take off my make up my phone starts vibrating.

Me: Hello?

Sara: Hey Jane, have you checked Instagram? What happened at the party you went to is going viral! Jane please tell me what that guy said isn't true.

Me: It isn't?

Sara: Jane!

Me: Fine! (Sigh) What Daniel said is true.

Sara: Jane, why would you-

Me: I am not sure, when he asked me all I was thinking about is how that money would really help me out. I would be able to make something of my life, start by own business and...maybe figure out what exactly happened the day of the accident.

Sara: Jane, I-

Me: But the worst part is that I am falling for him.

Sara: Oh sweetie, I don't know what to say.

Me: Just promise you won't tell anyone what I just told you, Adrian and I are going to try to fake this out and hopefully make it through this year.

Sara: I promise.

Me: Well, I'll talk to you later. Bye.

Sara: Bye.

I turn off my phone and let out a deep sigh. I check the time on my phone and it marked 9:30 PM. It was still open so we still had time. As I make up my mind I walk towards my closet and take out a simple cream colored floral dress. I put on a pair of open toe pumps that matched the dress before brushing my curly waves and walking out the door. I knock on the dark brown polished wooden door before I could coward out.

"Come in." His muffled voice states and I slowly turn the knob. Adrian looks up from his laptop and his gaze runs over my body. "Y-You look nice. Where are you going?"

"You mean where are WE going." Adrian stared at me with knitted eyebrows and I sigh. "I felt bad that you had to end your birthday on such a bad note so I've decided to take you to one of favorite restaurants in town."

"Jane, you really don't have t-"

"I want to." I state repeating his words. "Think of it as my birthday present to you."

"Fine," He sighs in defeat causing a triumphant smile to form on my face.

"Great! But you may want to dress in something more casual." I point to his tux and he smiles.
