-"Love can bring light into our lives, even in the darkest of times."

Don't look down. Don't look down. I kept chanting in my head those same three words but I still looked down. I gripped the seat tightly, my knuckles turning white in the process.

"Jane we haven't even lifted off yet." Adrian states from beside me.

I glare at him and he just rolls his eyes. My stomach felt sick, my palms were sweaty and I could feel a burning feeling in my chest due to my nervous state.

"Why did I even have to come with you?" I question as I turn to look at Adrian who was busy typing away in his computer. "Isn't this your business trip?"

"Yeah, and you are my personal assistant so you have to come, it's your job." Adrian answers not once diverting his gaze away from his laptop. "Would you rather have stayed in the mansion alone for two weeks?"

"Yes, I would have loved that." I reply not hint of sarcasm in my voice.

I wasn't kidding, I would have rather had stayed in that empty and lonely mansion then have to go through this terrifying two hour flight to New York.

Adrian roll his eyes before muttering, "Of course you would."

What is that suppose to mean?

"Mr. McKeller I am going to need to ask you to shut off any electronics since we are about to lift off." The flight attendant states.

Instead of taking a plane like a normal person Adrian being the rich arrogant billionaire he is decided to take his private jet.

"Alright." Adrian answers before shutting off the laptop.

The pilots voice announced that we were about to lift off and I tightened my seat belt. I gripped the chair tightly and a hand was placed over mine. I looked to see it was Adrian's. Without thinking and letting my fear guide me I intertwined our hands gripping his like there was no tomorrow. He didn't seemed bothered and he looked so calm unlike me who was freaking out. Suddenly I left the need to puke.

"If you're going to puke go to the bathroom and do it quietly please." Adrian states and I frown.

There's that arrogant Adrian!

"If I puke I will make sure to aim it at your expensive little shoes." I retort with scowl.

Once the plane was in the air we were able to stand up. I let go of Adrian's hand and look out the window although my mind warned me not to. The sun was starting to rise, rays of red and pink peeked from behind the mountains. The sky was splashed with colors of pink blue and purple. It was beautiful and suddenly being on this plane didn't seem so bad after all.

"Would you like anything to drink?" The flight attendant asked.

"Water please." I answer before she hands me a cup of water.

"Do you want anything to drink Mr. McKeller?" The flight attendant asks and Adrian shakes his head in response.

Once more he was typing away in his laptop so concentrated in his work. Does he ever take a break from work?

"If I do McKeller hotels wouldn't be ranked number one now would it." Adrian answered.

"Did I say that out loud?" I ask hoping he would say no.

"Yes." He replies and I feel my cheeks heat up in embarrassment.

"And I sometimes wonder if you're a grumpy forty year old trapped in a twenty four year old's body." I mumble under my breathe.
