Fear. That was the one word that came to my mind as I stood there staring at an angered Adrian.
"It's nine o'clock at night." Is the only thing that comes out of his mouth. "I told you to stop by at my office."
"I had stuff to do." I answer keeping my stand strong.
"Well your 'stuff' could have waited." Adrian replies.
This guy is really getting on my last nerves!
"Look I don't know how you were raised but you have to know that the world doesn't revolve around you, understood?" I snap and Adrian seems taken aback.
He crosses his arms over his chest and gives me his signature smirk.
"Look who's talking," Adrian responds. "You, the good girl that is selfless, didn't even care her fiancé would have died of starvation."
"Honestly, I wouldn't have cared." I retort and his mouth drops.
Score one for me!
"Next time I tell you to do something you don't disobey me, understood?" Adrian growled.
"Next time you talk to me like that I will knee you somewhere were the sun don't shine, understood." I reply.
"I'd like to see you try." He states his eyes never leaving mine.
I try to knee him but he grabs my leg wrapping it around his waist and pushing us to the wall. My heart started beating faster as I noticed the close proximity of our lips. Our eyes stared at each other, his hand was still holding my leg and I wrapped the other one around him.
"Jane," he breathed out his breathe fanning my face.
Now our lips were only a hair's width away. His eyes dropped to my lips before staring into my brown eyes again. Adrian leans in and closes the gap between us. I didn't know what I was doing but I wrapped my arms around his neck and ran my hands through his light brown locks. What were we doing?!
"I know mom said she wanted grandchildren but you aren't even married yet and you're already making them!" A familiar voice states causing us to break apart.
Adrian clears his throat as he sets me down and I fix my hair.
"Gabby what are you doing here?" He asks.
"I came to talk to Jane and also inform you that mom's wants us over for diner tomorrow." Gabby informs. "But instead I clearly came to interrupt you guys."
I bite my lips and let my brown strands of hair hide my embarrassed face.
"Do you know why mom wants us over for diner tomorrow?" Adrian asks as we take a seat in the living room.
"I don't know," Gabby responds. "Probably because she wants to spend time with her children?"
"Um, I am going to go do some work. I'll let you two talk." Adrian states before walking out of the room.
Thank you so much! Now I have to answer Gabby's follow up questions about what just happened! Great just great.
"Oh my god, I am not even going to ask what you two were doing." Gabby responds.
Thank you God!
I give her a shy smile and ask, "What did you want to talk about?"
"Well I wanted to first thank you for choosing me to be your maid of honor." Gabby answers. "And-"
"And?" I ask raising an eyebrow.
"I applied to Harvard Medical School and I got accepted." Gabby replies.
