The beeping of my alarm wakes me up from my wonderful slumber. I groan as I slap my hand on the alarm. I look up and the clock reads seven am. I decide to get up and head towards my bathroom. I quickly rush my teeth and wash my face before making my way to my closet. I took out a white dress with spaghetti straps. I take out a black blazer and pumps before getting dress. I brush my hair up into a pony tail. Once I finish doing my make up I head downstairs.
"Good morning." Adrian greets as I enter the dinning room.
I throw him a smile as I take a seat in front of me. A bowl of sliced fruit with whipped cream was already waiting for me as well as a glass of orange juice. I eat the delicious meal.
"Today, we are going to Jacob Corporations to check up on things." Adrian informs and I nod.
"Adrian?" I asks. He looks up at me and motions me to go on. "Do you think the reporters believed us the other night?"
"They haven't bothered us since then so yeah." He replies before placing his hand on top of mine. "But don't worry you'll still get the money that was promised even if they find out."
I pull my hand out of his grip hurt. Why does he think all I am worried about is the money? I am not!
"I'm not worried about the money." I snap with a frown as I stand up from the table, my apatite gone.
"Jane!" He calls out but I continue walking. I open the door and am shocked at who is standing on the other side.
"Damon?" I ask. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Why I came to see how my dear friend Adrian is doing." He answers with a smudged look. "Oh and I hope you don't mind, I brought an old friend of his as well."
The familiar blonde comes out from behind him just on cue. I felt like nothing compared to her. Her body was hugged by a vibrant red dress that showed off her perfect hour glass figure.
"Jane, who is it?" Adrian asks from behind him.
"Hello, Adrian long time since we last talked." Leila states with a smirk as I feel Adrian tense up next to me.
"I don't know if you have been informed or not but you are not welcomed here." I spit out. Leila rolls her eyes and pushes me out of the way before walking into the house uninvited. Damon steps in after her.
"Well this isn't your house, it's Adrian's so I don't have to listen to you." Leila looks me up unimpressed. "Right, Adrain?"
Adrian pulls me closer to him before answering, "I don't know if you have heard but Jane and I are getting married, and therefore she's the lady of the house so you have to respect her wishes."
His words made my heart skip a beat and they still didn't make up for what he said earlier.
"I remember when I was the lady of this dump." Leila states as she runs a finger over one of the brown wooden drawers and wipes away the invisible dust. "And now I am the lady of a real palace."
"Of course a gold digger like you would easily dump one rich guy and go in search of another." I snap.
Leila smirks and walks over to me before answering, "Well you are one to talk aren't you sweetie? You are the one who's marrying Adrian for money."
"I don't know what you have heard but I love Adrian, and I am marrying him because he is the only man I want, he is the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. What we have isn't an agreement, it's love. Something you clearly will never understand." I reply. "Now let ME remind YOU that you were the one who pretended to love him, and lied to him in the worst way possible before leaving him heartbroken. And you also destroyed the relationship he had with his brother."
