Red orginized the group into homes after that. The Kokori gladly let them stay for as long as they want. The only condition was to eliminate Shadow. Red was good with that.

Red, with the help of Midna, broke up the group into sleeping arrangements around the village.
Red, Blue, Link, and Batman were going to sleep in Red's house. The only thing was that there weren't enough beds, they said it was fine.

There were three days (counting thus one) until they left to face Shadow at Hyrule.
Red pulled together a council of the group and they split their time wisely.
Red, Blie, Link, Midna, Batman, and Bigby were the council members.
Day three would be the recouperating day; they had helped Mario and Pacman through their tough losses of Luigi and Rick. Red didn't qualify himself for moral help, he didn't feel it was nesessarry.

As Red began to pack his bag he saw Mario walking alone outside his window.
He was holding a knife.
"Shit." Red said and sprang from his bed which he was sitting on.

Red followed Mario into the woods. There he fell to his knees and held up the knife. Red started to object, but he was too late. Mario had already stuck the knife into his body.
Red ran up to Mario, for he was facing away from him and watched Mario slowly grunt and pull.

Red stopped and saw that Mario didn't stab himself at all. He had punctured the ground.
Mario then held up a handful of dirt to himself. He dug around in it and found a small golden ring.

Mario laughed and put it on. "Luigi used to hide things when we were little. He gave me a map to a foreign area once. Heh. This was the place. The high kingdom of Hyrule. Right here, somehow, he knew of a buried ring." Mario turned around to see Red. "I miss him." A silence. A tear rolled down Mario's cheek.

Mario stood up and wiped his face with his arm sleeve. "I didn't stop and realize that I was being an asshole. The whole time he pretended like it didn't hurt him. But it did. And I liked it." He said this last part with a rough voice.
"I HATE myself for doing that. Because it hurts me, now. It hurts me inside." Mario looked up at Red, his eyes Red and brown hair tangled. Red opened his arms and pulled Mario into a hug and thought,

This man has broken his hate shell.
For good.
