Chapter 8

I sat in class bored out of my brain. I was feeling restless for absolutely no reason at all. Deirdre sat beside me.

"I'm so bored," I whispered to him.

"I can tell," Deirdre whispered back.

"Where's Riley?" I asked quietly. "He is usually shooting daggers at us,"

"He found his mate," Deirdre whispered back.

He did? I asked continuing the conversation in our mind link.

Yeah a few wolves from another pack came over to talk with the Alpha about something. Turns out one of them was Riley's mate.

I didn't know about another pack coming.

It was like three am you were probably asleep.

Get over it. Also Axel wants you to go to his house after school.

Couldn't he tell me that himself?

His Mum decided he would stay home today and celebrate Riley getting his mate.

That's weird.

I walked to Axel's house. Jack was sitting out the front.

"How come you're here?" I asked.

"You'll laugh if you knew why," Jack grinned at me.

"Can you tell me anyway?" I asked.

"Well if Axel ends up being Alpha I'll be his beta," Jack explained. "So let me quote his Mum exactly. Jack as you are a potential future beta you get to come celebrate my son getting his mate!"

"She didn't!"

Jack snorted. "She did. Riley is seriously annoyed,"

I laughed. "Where is Axel anyway? Deirdre said he wanted to talk to me,"

"That's right," Axel said appearing suddenly. "Let's go Hanna!"

He led my away quickly into the forest. We sat down the same place we'd been yesterday.

"Why'd you want to talk to me?" I asked.

"Do you know how a wolf gets his mate?" Axel asked me suddenly.

I shook me head.

"Well you can usually tell at a glance," Axel explained. "For starters your wolf goes crazy whenever your around them,"

Axel raised his eyes at me. I was sure my face went red. I crossed my arms.
