I walked into school feeling awkward. I'd never been to school before; I'd only ever been home schooled. I knew why of course; my Mum was afraid I would shift. My Dad was an Alpha but his pack was in another country. My parents were mates, and if what she told me about mates was true then I don't know how she had been strong enough to leave him. Whenever I asked her she always told me it was because he'd done something unforgivable but she was always vague. I'd barely convinced her to let me into this school.

Deep in thought I didn't notice as I bumped into a boy with shaggy brown hair.

"Sorry," I apologized.

He smiled at me. "It's fine,"

He stood there staring at me and I felt awkward.

"What?" I finally asked breaking the silence.

"You look pretty," he answered holding out his hand. "My name's Mike,"

"Hanna," I responded shaking his hand.

I was sure my face was red. I'd been called pretty lots of times but never by a guy. I had curly blonde hair, bright blue eyes and olive skin but I'd never considered myself to be pretty.

"Well Hanna," he said casually wrapping his arm around me. "I'll show you around,"

We walked through the school towards the office.

"How did you know I needed to go here?" I asked.

He rolled his eyes. "New kids always go here,"

I smiled going in. The principal was an old man and didn't really talk. He just handed me my lock, the combination, what number my locker was, I list of things I needed to buy then shooed me out.

"I'll walk you to the lockers," Mike decided.

I nodded at him because I wasn't really sure where to go. He led me to my locker and I dumped all my stuff inside. After I shut the door I realised three boys had gathered around. Two of them were grinning at me. The other was looking at me funny.

"Hanna these are my friends, Axel, Jack and Deirdre," Mike explained. "Guys this is Hanna,"

The boy that was giving me a strange look was Deirdre. He narrowed his eyes at me suspiciously.

"Dude she's not doing anything stop looking at her as if she's a criminal or something," Mike told him.

"I don't like her," Deirdre muttered.

Axel rolled his eyes. "Congrats Deirdre. The extreme party-pooper,"

"Since when is this a party?" I asked.

Axel smirked. "Since now,"

"Watcha got first?" Jack asked.

I looked at my schedule. "Uh History,"

"I have that too," Axel smirked. "Come on,"

Axel saluted his friends before leading me away. He was bigger than them, and there was something powerful about him. As he touched me I felt something at our touch, and I loved it.

"What's the deal with Deirdre?" I asked distracting myself.

"He has no lady friends," Axel told me as he wiggled his eyebrows.

I laughed shoving him slightly. He barely moved. History was a complete bore. Axel was making faces at me the entire time. Soon it was lunch. Axel dragged me along to a table with his friends who I'd met earlier and a few others.

"Where's my dumb brother?" Axel asked.

"Show some respect!" One of them snapped. "he's the next-"he hesitated when spotting me.

"Next what?" I asked.

The boy shrugged.

"You have a brother?" I asked Axel.

"Twin brother!" Jack called. "Hanna always remember that Axel is the hot one," he smirked at me.

My face went red. Something popped into my head and I wanted to slap myself for not noticing it before. These guys were all werewolves.

"You okay Hanna?" Jack asked me.

"My looks have put her in a trance," Axel answered smirking.

Mike was laughing. Before I could respond a guy sat down on our table. He was facing Axel. They both looked similar, same sandy hair, green eyes. The only difference was Axel had darker skin, and he seemed a lot friendlier then this guy. I felt weird around him. The guy was looking at me with such force I wanted to flinch but I didn't.

"Hanna this is my brother Riley," Axel explained. "Of course I'm way better,"

"Shut up," Riley snapped. "Nobody asked you dog,"

Axel tensed. "Excuse me? Say that to my face douchebag,"

Riley smirked. "Dog,"

It was weird. I didn't think he was the type to smirk at people but I was obviously wrong. They were glaring at each other and their eyes were dark. I was pretty sure they were about to shift. Mike and Deirdre started dragging Axel away and a few of Riley's friends were dragging him away. I remembered that they didn't know I knew they were werewolves.

"They do not like each other," I sighed.

"Never have never will," Jack responded.
