"Exactly," Axel said.

"You weren't going to say anything," I responded.

Axel raised his eyes. "Seriously? I just didn't want to bombard you with a whole bunk of wolf mumbo jumbo,"

I couldn't stop myself from laughing. "Mumbo jumbo?"

"You know what I mean,"

I looked at him seriously. "What happens now?"

"I claim you," Axel answered.

I knew what a claim was. It was one of the few things my Mother had told me about wolves. Hers was gone of course. She'd rejected her mate. I awkwardly nodded at Axel. He smiled trying to reassure me. I felt his teeth go slightly into my neck. It felt strange and shocking. There was a dull ache but that was gone in seconds.

"This is weird," I muttered.

Axel laughed. "Life is weird Hanna,"

"This doesn't change anything does it?" I asked. I didn't want things to be awkward between anyone.

"Of course not," Axel responded. "Everyone already knew anyway. They aren't gonna make a big deal out of it,"

"Please don't let your Mum have her weird 'My-son-has-a-mate' celebration," I told him.

Axel grinned at me. "No way! That is not happening. It was funny to watch though,"

"Who's Riley's mate?"

"Her names Ellie," Axel answered. "She's very timid. It's really funny,"

I laughed and suddenly Axel's lips were on mine. It was so strange and I loved it. He stood up grinning.

"See ya tomorrow Hanna!" He called.

"See ya!" I yelled back.
