Chapter 14

I sat in the car with Axel, Jack, Quinn and Riley. Yesterday I'd spent all day looking for a nice outfit and I'd finally settled on a simple blue dress. My hair was done up in a Dutch braid and tied with a blue ribbon. A wore silver sandals.

It was tense in the car. Jack drive but nobody tried to make conversation.

"Who else will be at the party?" I asked.

"Other Alphas," Riley answered vaguely.

"Like who?" I asked surprised he wasn't yelling at me.

Jack smirked. "We are gonna get some insight into Storm and taunt her with it,"

"Her parents are going to be there?" I asked.

Riley snorted. "They aren't gonna talk about her,"

Before anyone could respond Quinn stopped the car. We had arrived. We were greeted immediately. There were certainty a lot of people. I could easily tell who were Alphas. I spotted a lady with short red hair and hazel eyes. She looked like Storm. She spotted me and walked over.

"Hello," she smiled. "My name is Laura,"

I smiled. "I'm Hanna,"

"You're Axel's mate aren't you?" She asked.

I nodded. "I don't mean to be rude what you're a human aren't you?"

Laura smiled. "I'm not offended. It's true,"

"I'm half-human," I told her.

She laughed. I felt awkward though. I wanted to ask her about Storm. She seemed to sense this.

"If you want to ask me something go ahead," she told me.

"Are you Storm's Mother?" I asked quietly.

She nodded. "It's not something my mate likes to talk about it can't be avoided wherever,"

"She's strange," I told her vaguely. I hesitated. "She's being held in our pack prison,"

"I haven't seen her in years," Laura admitted. "I miss her though. She's the only daughter I'll ever have,"

"If you don't mind me asking what exactly happened?" I asked.

"I'm sorry Hanna I can't tell you that," she responded. "Because I'm not really sure,"

I could tell she was lying but I just nodded. I was going to ask Storm and I was adamant on that.

"Hanna!"

I turned around to see Axel calling me.

"That's my queue," I told Laura. "See ya!"

"Bye," she said waving.

I ran over to Axel.

"Ivan, Caleb this is my mate Hanna," Axel introduced me.

He wrapped his arms around me and my wolf got excited at his touch. Suddenly we heard growling. I could see it from where I was standing. Riley and Ivan's second son, Bryce were facing either. They looked like they were about to shift. Quinn grabbed Riley suddenly and began dragging him away.

"Sorry," Axel told Ivan. "We have to leave,"

Ivan nodded. I followed Axel. Our pack was beginning to leave. I got into the car and Jack came with us. It was quiet and nobody spoke.
