The Half-Blood Alpha

Chapter 13

It was almost eleven o'clock when Axel got back to his house. I decided to stay there since I was too anxious to go home. My Mum didn't care, she didn't really mind what I did these days. I lay in Axel's bored trying to sleep but too worried too. He finally came in, his sandy her dishevelled.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Girls strong I'll admit that," Axel told me. "But we got her back in her cell,"

I nodded. Axel lay down beside me wrapping his arms around me. He wasn't wearing a shirt and I could feel his bare chest against my back. He breathed against my neck. I felt safe in his arms. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

When I woke up Axel was still asleep. I sat up and he stirred staring groggily at me. Without warning he kissed me. It felt good and Axel was holding my shoulders pressing his lips against mine harder. I pulled away breathless and he sat me on his lap massaging my thighs.

I smiled. His fingers traced the claim tickling my skin. He breathed softly in my ear. We stayed like this. It was peaceful and neither of us wanted to disturb it. There was a knock on the door and Axel stood up.

"You should get changed," he told me.

I nodded. I changed into a simple summer dress and walked downstairs my feet bare. Axel and a man called Quinn were talking. Quinn was Axel's third in command.

"Luna," Quinn said nodding to me.

I nodded back to him. "Hi Quinn,"

I didn't really know him and he and Axel weren't all that close. Quinn seemed too serious. Quinn left.

"What was that about?" I asked.

"Alpha Ivan is having a party to celebrate his son Caleb becoming Alpha," Axel explained. "Ivan is going to officially step down at the party,"

"How come your Mum didn't throw a party like that?" I asked. "She's the type to,"

"She wanted to," Axel admitted. "Unfortunately for her no one else wanted to,"

I nodded.

"Ivan has a three sons," Axel went on. "Caleb the oldest who actually should have become Alpha a few years back. There's his second son Bryce and his third son Jasper,"

"That must be hard for the other two," I said.

Axel nodded. "At least Riley had a chance to become Alpha,"

"When is the party?" I asked.

"Two days from now," Axel told me.

"Tomorrow is a shopping day then," I decided. "I'm going to buy something nice to wear,"

Axel nodded grinning.
