Chapter 41:Traces

(Jayden's POV)

I look down in despair. Everything sooner or later was going to be hopeless. Saffe was right about the point. Why do we even try anyways?

"However, we won't give up even if your absence on this situation." Roman speaks as he looks down desperate for my own hope.

I'm wondering, why are they caring so much. I have only been with my dad for at least 9 years. I was able to remember some of the things we do, however it's just a blur to me.

The way they put it as they have to find them top priority. It sounds like they're hiding something. It would be to rude to ask why.

"Anyways, let's put down that matter and focus on our top priority." Kiel disturbing our thinking.

He gets out papers of some kind of information. "Traces" was written on the top of the pages. I reach to grab and read one from the pile. Gibberish of secret coding and messages passed back and forth were scattered all over the paper.

I read aloud one of the messages: "Have you seen Appa lately he was suppose to tell us about Axel but it seems he left early . . . No I haven't . . ."

I continue to read it aloud back and forth. They were talking about Saffe's dad and mine. How they needed to finish something at work. But they never mentioned what kind of work. They also were dated back when my dad was at the Army. That is we don't know if he really did go. It all just sounds like a big lie to me.

"We found late messages between co-workers, friends, and family." Roman claims as he passes more papers to me.

We already are one step further. However it could just be the beginning of everything. Therefore the "Traces" he meant were about the messages. It points out that we need to find more.

"Anyone want some Green Tea?" May says walking out with 3 cups at hand.

She passes them out and waits for a response. She wanted to know badly about this.

"Would you mind us please?" Kiel says coldly.

Roman smacks the back of head and he jolted forward. I laugh and walk up to May. I wrap my arms around her neck. She hugs back and buries her nose in my shoulder.

"It's getting cold soon. Nana said she should be back too." May said as she looks over at the two men and walk inside.

Before she left Roman said a soft "thank you" and she replied back to it. I walk back to the chair and take my seat. I yawn cold breath and close my eyes for a second.

"So . . . I thought you weren't dating anyone?" Roman says as a small smirk pulls on his checks.

I open my eyes intently and shake my head fiercely. I would have lied, but it would have caused more trouble.

"Not at all. She's already dating someone else." I say as I sip on my tea.

Roman signs and drinks his as well. Kiel didn't even touch his. So much for being stubborn.

"We should get going. We'll be back soon and give you a call." Kiel says getting up and leaving.

Roman gives me a short smile and walks behind Kiel. I see them away and mom is already outside. She came just in time to also say goodbye. I walked inside and look back. Mom was there talking to them insisting them not to leave.

I walk over to the two idiots who are drinking their tea . . .
