(Oma's POV)
I heard shuffling and soft lips touch my forehead. I didn't want to open my eyes, neither did I want to move. I felt warm and comfortable where I was. I felt happy . . . I stayed there for a while.
But then I felt my heart beat faster then it would to the point where it started to hurt. I didn't like it, so I sit up and look over at Jayden. She looks so cute when she is asleep. It made my heart and mind go crazy. I looked away and got up quickly to look over my phone. I look at the time and it's 9:42. I than put the phone back and look over at Jayden. I wanted to move her to the bed but when I tried picking her up I couldn't. How weak I was. So I decided to move the small table further to the wall and grabbed one of her blankets. I flung it over her and went to grab another blanket for myself. Before I got to the rooms door frame Jayden is awake.
"May, why didn't you tell me you woke up?" She said as she rubbed her sleepy eyes.
"I didn't want to wake you. Otherwise you would have goon back to studying." I said as she gave me a weak smile.
When I was about to open up my blanket she grabbed my wrist and pulled me to the floor. She cuddled tight around my waist.
"I want to sleep with Oma tonight . . ." She said as her words drifted to sleep.
Her saying my name made my eyes go blurry. I rub my eyes and wrap my arm around her neck she nuzzles closer and breaths gently.
~~~later that day~~~
I wake up yawning myself back to sleep. I turn to my side and open my eyes to wake up to nothing next to me. I get up quickly and I was face to face with Jayden. My eyes turn wide and I feel the hot blood rush to my face in seconds. She looks at me blankly then gives me a warm smile that made my blood boil.
She comes closer and kisses my check, "Good morning, you almost missed breakfast. Did you have a good sleep?" She says tilting her head with a small smile.
All I was able to do was nod my head in respond and keep it as that. I get up and walk over to my phone to check the time. '10:02' it read. I woke up late, I thought to myself. I walk back to the small table and sit across from her. I look over on what she's doing and she's reading a poetry book. She looks up at me and smiles strongly. I smile back and she looks down again to read her book. We wouldn't usually talk as much when she's "busy" with something, but we would exchange looks and sometimes make faces with each other when we're bored. I look outside her window; no clouds, no wind, just a sunny hot day again even if it was morning.
I couldn't wait to go to high school and wonder where me and her will stand. She would usually be quiet, dress better than me and is nicer than most people I would usually know. It seemed easier for her to get along with people compared to me. But not everyone likes her, neither do they hate her. She seems different . . . wait. What am I saying?! I put my face in my hands and scratch my head vigorously and close my eyes tightly. I shouldn't be thinking about this, not about her.
"Is something the matter?" She asked with worry in her eyes and concern in her voice.
"Just thinking." I replayed looking to the left.
"About what?" She asked.
I was scared to reply but without thinking, I said "You." And covered my face with my hands and hair. I uncover my eyes and look over at her. Her smile disappeared. She shook her head with a weak smile and looked down at her book and said-
"You shouldn't think about me. I'm just a friend, unless . . ." And stopped.
Before she could continue Jayden's mom, Joanna called us down for breakfast. Jayden gets up quickly and runs down stairs, I run after her. She was about to trip on the last steep because she missed but catches herself.
When we made it downstairs and come across a table full of food. I couldn't nearly finish everything on the table. We sit down across from each other and enjoy the meal.
When we finish we walk back up stairs and straight after that Jayden goes to her studies. I would always get bored when she does that so I would usually watch her. Seems creepy, but she never minds it. I would later drift off to sleep until I heard a sudden scream and jump to my feet.
