CHAPTER 10:
LOUIS' POV:
"Wake up nerd!" was the first thing I heard the next morning. I groaned and shifted to the other side, pulling my mushy pillow over my head. Hmph.
"Wake up this instant or I'll have to do something that I didn't want to do," Zayn threatened. After a few seconds, when I didn't respond, I heard him walk away. Ah, finally. A few more minutes of peace.
Through my sleep induced, hazy state of mind, I mildly registered something warm sliding down my back and- "Holy shit, Zayn!"
I sprang up from the bed, pulling my now sticky shirt over my head and throwing it aside, all traces of sleep gone. "You look sweet!" Zayn teased and I glared at him.
"Not funny! You got my bed all sticky with honey! And my hair too!"
"Oh, stop your whining and go take a shower! Would you rather I'd used the taser?"
I gulped. That is really not a pleasant way to wake up. Believe me. Without responding, I huffed and snatched some clothes-to-go from my closet and a clean towel, making my way to the bathroom. I squinted at the wall clock on my way. Greaaaat. 5 AM.
"Liam's gonna be here in half an hour, and get your brain juice ready or whatever, you have a lot of work to do today!" I heard Zayn's muffled voice from outside the bathroom. I shouted back an 'okay' and jumped into the shower.
Scrubbing my body free from stickiness, I hopped out of the shower stall, wrapping a fluffy towel around my lower torso. I heard the door bell ring while I was brushing my teeth. After rinsing, flossing and all that dental hyegiene stuff, I made myself presentable and emerged out of the steamy bathroom.
"Took you long enough," Zayn commented from his spot on my bed, rolling his eyes, then jokingly checking me out. Liam was sitting beside him, cross-legged, and tapping away on an iPad.
"Hey Lou," Liam greeted with a smile, looking up.
"Hey Li!" I grinned back at him. Liam and I were on much better terms now than Zayn and I. Probably cos Liam is mostly the one who, er, 'escorts' me to places, so we mostly end up hanging out together. And also because Zayn is an insufferable idiot who is impossible to understand and cannot be befriended.
"Lou? Li? Since when are you two buddy buddies?" Zayn asked, amused.
"Why, you jealous?" Liam elbowed him, and Zayn made a weird growling sound, pushing Liam- rather hardly- off the bed, making him fall on the floor with a loud thud.
"Zayn!" I gasped, annoyed. Liam winced, pulling himself up. "Don't worry Louis. We're assassins, remember? We don't even hesistate to karate-chop each other for the last cookie and all," Liam informed me, shrugging nonchalantly. I nodded slowly, making a mental note to not upset these boys too much in the future.
"Alright! You ready?" Liam asked, sliding his iPad inside his carry messenger bag, and slinging it over his right shoulder.
"Yep!" I nodded. "Even though I've no idea what I'm going to do when I go there. The President is embarrassing himself, I tell you," I shook my head, tsk-ing. I still stand with my theory that President Warner was a bit high when he heard about me. And still is.
Oh well, let's see what happens when we get there.
~*~
After riding in the scary black van owned by the assassins, (well, at least it wasn't on Zayn's bike so I shouldn't comlplain much) we pulled over in front of a tall and fancy shmancy bussiness-like building.
