CHAPTER 26:

LOUIS' POV

I shifted around in the uncomfortable hospital seat, wincing at my numb bum. I had been sitting in this damn chair for over an hour, waiting for Zayn to come out of the ER, and into a room so I could see him.

Sure, I knew that Zayn's injuries weren't that serious, thank God, but still. I was nervously pacing now.

I saw Niall, Marcel and Harry- why is he here?- enter through the glass doors of the hospital, and waited till they walked over to me.

Before anyone could speak, "Is Liam here?" Harry asked, not looking up from his iPhone. All three of us shared a look.

"No, not yet?" It came out as a question.

"So, is he okay?"

I nodded to Niall. "Yeah. I sure hope he is. He is okay though. A least that's what they told me. He seemed quite hurt. Oh God what if-"

"LOUIS! He's going to be alright," Marcel placed his hands on my shoulders, pushing me down in the same hospital chair.

I took a deep breath to calm myself. Of course. He's going to be fine. 'Cos he's Zayn.

Bryson had also arrived along with Liam a while later, and Harry was shamelessly flirting with Liam. Okay, what gives?

Another hour later, and I was feeling myself slowly going mad. And thank the Lord, that the doctor stepped out of the ER a few minutes later. "Hello, I'm Dr. Patterson. Family of Zayn Parker?"

I immediately stood up and almost ran over to the doctor. "Is he okay? Can I see him now?"

"Are you immediate family?"

"Uh, no..."

"Then?"

"Um..."

"I'm his uncle," Bryson came up beside me and nodded to Dr Patterson.

"Right this way," the doctor started to lead Bryson to Zayn's room but he told the doctor to wait.

"He's a very close friend. Come on Louis," Bryson called, and I hurriedly stood up, following the both men to Zayn's room.

The doctor led us through polished white hallways with doors lining both sides, until he stopped in front of a particular room. "The sedatives will have worn off by now. Go on in, I'll be with you shortly," the doctor spoke, and I hastily pushed open the door, stepping inside.

I bit my lower lip as I caught sight of Zayn. His body looked so small and frail in the huge white hospital bed. There were cuts and bruises all over his tan skin, his black hair was all messy and tangled, and his left arm was bandaged.

There were no doubt more bandages under his grey hospital gown.

"Zayn," I whispered, walking over to his bed, and sinking down in the chair placed beside it. I took his limp hand in mine, squeezing it tightly.

"I'm going to go get the others," Bryson spoke awkwardly, then slipped out of the room, closing the door behind him.

Why was Zayn so hurt, when I had gotten out without a scratch? I know that his job requires getting hurt on a daily baasis, but this time, it was too damn much. He nearly lost his life.

All because of me. If I hadn't poked my nose in the government computers all those years ago, none of this would've happened. If I hadn't agreed to go with Tanner, Zayn would'nt be here right now, in this hospital, hurt and unconscious. It's all my fault.
